Yeah, I've heard good things about this place as well but haven't made a visit yet. Woman I work with actually rides/trains horses on that same farm and gets to drink their beers when she's done. Nice combo if I ever heard of one.

I'm sure that is true. Aslin is also in one of the wealthiest pockets of large population base in the entire USA and that might influence higher pricing a little as well. Not shrinking the lines or demand at all.

Sorry, yet another question about the current state of going to Aslin... If I'm picking between this Thursday and Friday for taking a day off and biking out there to just sit at the bar (not interested in waiting in line for crowlers), which is the better day for being able to get in? And are both Thursday releases usually still available on Friday, or have they been running out?

Crowd usually dies down around 4-5 on Thursday releases. You see a lot of grab and go so it would depend on your time. They rarely run out of pours that day so you should be fine on Friday.

I've only gone on Fridays at opening, and it has never been crowded. They've always had draft pours of everything from the day before when I've gone.

I'm making my very first trip to Aslin tomorrow. Had a Mind the Hop at a beer share this past Saturday and it completely blew my mind. I decided I must go the next chance I get. Glad to hear they don't usually kick the kegs on Thursdays.

I'll be making my first Aslin trip on Saturday as well. Really hoping to snag a few crowlers. Would showing up at 10 be safe? Was last weekend's quick sellout the new normal, or was that just due to the popularity of the beers on offer?

Thanks guys. Will be bringing down some Tired Hands as well if anyone going to the Sat release is interested in trading recent Aslin for recent TH.

So what are my odds of getting crowlers if i roll in and 3 prompt today?

Line at 250pm on a Thursday already 100 deep. Sorry, Aslin. I'm out

Exciting thing is that people are loving their beer and they are hopefully making money and they will expand. End result will be more of their beer for everyone.

However it's pretty impressive a new brewery can have this much success with hundreds lined up at 2pm on a hot Thursday afternoon.

I'll preface this by saying that I really like Aslin's beers and have driven down from Baltimore multiple times just to drink them on tap. I think the hype/lines that you're seeing are not only the result of a good brewery, but FINALLY a good brewery in the DC metro area. People in DC love good beer, and until recently the local options were inconsistent at best. Even as recently as a year or so ago, you were seeing OTWOA as the most hyped beer in DC. Now it's collecting dust on the shelf here in Baltimore. With the rise of Aslin and Ocelot (along with the emergence of Richmond as a beer destination), OTWOA is essentially forgotten about unless people are complaining about the canning issues.

The sleeping giant has finally awoken in DC, and people are (unsurprisingly) going crazy for it. I think and hope this is just the beginning for the DC beer scene.

Not sure about this. Just one man's opinion, but there are numerous breweries in the area putting out beers that I like more than Aslin. The stuff I've had from Aslin is good, not great. I can get better stuff at any bottle shop. I think it's a combination of hype over NE-style IPAs in general, combined with limited capacity that creates shortages and drives up the hype. If people could consistently get as much as they wanted, I suspect the hype would die out pretty quickly. But what do I know.

The NE Style IPA isn't hype or a fad. It's simply a better experience through and through.

    Sorry if you don't.

I'm not trying to call him out, just genuinely interested in his opinion. My life would be a lot easier if I thought there were a lot of local breweries and easy to find bottles that are superior to what they're putting out. I certainly do not relish going out to some f*cking strip mall in Herndon for the chance to wait in an hour-long line to pay $15 for a 32oz crowler.

Lol...fucking strip mall in Herndon. Saw you lose out last Saturday, don't know you but it still sucks to watch. Took it like a G dude. Better luck next Saturday bro, I also happen to concur with you.
