as expected, didnt sell out. Struggle bus for them lately. Although they'll just ship the extra cans off to retail and make less. But I really don't want the hype to die, we don't have much to trade out of Ohio with Jackie O bottle counts so high, so anything we have that is desirable is nice.

Wouldn't call it a struggle. I for one LOVE these quieter events with no lines or mad rush to scoop and trade. Much easier to mingle and enjoy the draft selection. Hoof probably enjoys the break too.

Expecting good things from this Burial collab.

I wouldn't call it a struggle bus either. If you release beers 3 out of every 4 weeks (or whatever schedule they're on), some people just can't go every week. Since most seem to like them for their IPA's, you'd have to figure a blonde ale wouldn't sell out. I personally would like to try it, but not enough to drive 1 hour and 40 minutes. Who cares about "hype dying down"? If a beer is good, then it speaks for itself.

What a sad comment. High bottle counts at Jackie O's is one of the best things that we have here in Ohio in terms of beer.

While their lesser know beers usually see lighter attendance, no one is going to draw a lot of attention for a horchata beer. Few people even know what horchata is in the first place. Then take into consideration the fact that anyone that has had a horchata-inspired beer probably never wants to have one again.

Cinnamon rice milk inspired beer? I'm down to try it, but not getting my hopes up.

While 4 Hands' Horchata Chocolate Milk was okay, Bruery's Or Xata was downright disgusting, imo. I didn't even want to make beer muffins out of that one :grinning:

Post of the day. I absolutely love that I can get world class beers in quantity and relatively easily. I also love that I am able to introduce regular trade partners from out of state to these beers. They always ask for more.

Maybe I just missed it last Sunday, but does Hoof always have food trucks for the releases?

I thought they were supposed to have a Filipino food truck last Sunday but I went hungry and left hungrier lol. They usually have something.

I really wish Hoof would release two beers every Sunday. I feel like it would bring a ton more people and a lot more money to them. Do they not have the capacity to do so?

^ Agree. Done it before, so they definitely have the capacity once or twice a month.

I'll take it a step further - silent releases... how awesome would it be to show up Sunday and find out they packaged Dragonsaddle for those patrons who supported the Burial collab. People would be SO pissed, I think it would be hilarious.

My sister raves about Blue Moon Horchata. I'll be honest, it's not bad. Surely Burial and Hoof Hearted can outdo that one.

If there is anything I've learned from trading away Ohio beers it's the grass isn't always greener. There will always be new, exciting, must trade for beers all the time, but there are also always tons of new and exciting ohio brews being made all the time. I'm thankful for a place like Jackie o's that pumps out awesome barrel aged goodies in quantity and quality that the whole state can enjoy and share with others.. Every person I've ever sent a Jackie O's beer to always asks me when I can get them more.. BA Oro & BB Coffee Oil are two of the best BA stouts that I have had and the only reason they don't have mad trade power is because people are willing to give away $4$ (or sometimes even less) to try some other states hot ticket beer. I traded all my Black Maple extras away for less quality brews from other states. Hate to see someone from Ohio complain about the lack of trade-able beer here and then take it a step further and say it's because Jackie O's produces too much goodness... Please continue to make Ohio beer great Jackie O's and in the quantities that we can all enjoy it in state..

Well said. I would say 9/10 times I trade for a over hyped ipa (tired hands milkshakes in this example) I feel let down and wish I had just kept my Bodhi or Konkey dong or whatever it may be.

Do they sell 4packs to non ticket holders when not sold out? Would like to swing by late to grab one if I get a chance.

Back to Hoof.. I'd love to see multiple canned beers available at each release instead of just 1 canned beer at a time, even if that meant the beer was 1 week old in the cans.. It would make my round trip and many others much more enjoyable, and I would likely buy more hoof beer because of it. Also, Konkey dong cans are really tasting fruity and delicious right now. Also, I know this blonde ale release isn't everyone's thing, but I'm glad to see hoof canning other styles of beers. I just wish I could get some DIPAs or IPAs with this beer on Sunday.

When you start adding trade value into the discussion of whether a beer is good or not, you've hit a slippery slope.

I'm interested in this Burial collab, especially because I love Burial, but it looks like my local store will get it sometime next week. Can't spend every Sunday driving 4 hours.
