Was tangerine and clementines. Nice and fruity. Bottle was a 10/2015. I am terrible at picking up on oxidation and some other things but I can hit that aged saison thing

This was a really tasty beer. Man I dug it. Thanks! And Cheers everyone.

@Eziel Nice guessing! The bottles I got from the barrel society last year were something of a mixed bag, but I thought Sargent was actually really good, glad you enjoyed it.

Great box Chad! It's always interesting to see beers that are from your area that are really hard to get. Drooling over that Double Negative! It's starting to drop in my area now. Hoping I can get one near my work as I don't have the time to hunt in NYC.

Box dropped form @Avelasquez80 yesterday!! Pretty excited after watching everyone pop mystery bottles over the past few weeks.

    First up, the haul:

Family shot with glass and tired dog
    [IMG]

    The Cans
    Real Ale - Gose
    Deep Ellum - Local Legend
    Oasis - Meta Modern
    Live Oak - Hefe
    Martin House - Pretzel Stout

    The Bottles
    Goliad - Watermelon Gose
Ranger Creek - Imperial Strawberry Milk Stout
Mystery Bottle 1 (unwrapped in this pic now that I drank it)
Myster Bottle 2 (Creepy Nicholas Cage)
    Lone Pint - Yellow Rose
    Oddwood - Saison
    Jester King - Omniscience Proselytism

Not sure if I am more excited for mystery beers or known beers. I have definitely not had much form Texas beyond a pour of Yellow Rose,. Love mosaic so I am ready for some more! Excited for some JK bottles and the nice mix of beers Ariel sent. The cans should disappear quickly. The glass matches the Imperial Strawberry Milk Stout and that should be a nice bottle do dig into next time I want a good dessert beer.

The covered bottle art made me laugh. Cheers and Thanks @Avelasquez80 !!

I couldn't wait to get into a mystery bottle so I chose sexy santa...[IMG]

I had no idea what this was, my notes are: SMOKEY, oak or spiciness from?, orange juice, tart with a non-sugary sweetness. It dried up a bit as it warmed and the smokiness was more balanced with everything else going on. I couldn't even begin to really describe this beer, but it was very interesting to try blind.

Second pour! It is Jester King Gotlandsdricka - JK website - Gotlandsdricka, meaning “Drink of the Land of Goths”, is believed to have been the beer of the Vikings. Our rendition of this ancient style is inspired by the traditional farmhouse ales once brewed on the island of Gotland off the coast of Sweden. Gotlandsdricka (6.6% alcohol by volume) is brewed with birchwood smoked malt, juniper, sweet gale and rye. It’s unfiltered, unpasteurized and naturally carbonated through re-fermentation in the bottle.

Super smooth mouthfeel, big coconut notes, some chocolate, nutty, feels like a porter. This really reminds me of/tastes like Last Snow.

The Reveal.......Due South One Eyed Tiki Coconut Porter with cocoa, aged on Oak. Delicious! My dad and brother were big fans, too.

    Thanks again, Chad!

I was notified by UPS yesterday that I was receiving a package from @Elkevjoe, who told me "it's just a sixer." Today I received this return-fire ninja box full of ALL WANTS, a damn fine sixer if you ask me.

I've been using my awesome newbies glasses all week, but have been too busy to post. Here is my week in beer:

    Second mystery beer from @jschott75
Dark, syrup, vanilla, and maybe some fruit. My husband is convinced the fruit is cherry. And he was right!

    Pipework's Cherry Truffle Abduction.
    Good stuff!

Another Pipeworks from @jschott75 (my last Pipeworks). This was a new brewery tick for me. And I think this is my unexpected favorite beer this month!!
Partially because this is my favorite beer can ever! :stuck_out_tongue:
But also, this Belgian IPA is really interesting, really funky.

This Grimm I picked up at the last minute of my NY trip was worth the checked bag fee! This tastes so citrusy, like I spiked the beer with grapefruit juice.

The newbies glasses are seeing a lot of hops this week. This beer was also pretty citrusy tasting to me. Not quite as much as Grimm. This was my first Kern and I am a fan.

    Great glasses @Elkevjoe
    Bart I have yours too!

Drank my second mystery beer the other night.
First thing that hit me was the bourbon. There was also a fruit sweetness that I couldn't place and hints of caramel as well.
This was a great blind and something I would have never guessed. Really tasty beer. I'm gonna have to drink an old fashioned soon so I can compare. Thanks again @Steban

Opened up my second mystery beer from @andreizm.

First thoughts are it's a spiced stout. Now time to try to figure out what.

Beer kept getting better and better as it warmed up, but I didn't have much luck figuring out what it was. I was focused on west coast breweries. Pretty sure it wasn't from the Bruery based on the shape of the bottle. Next thought was Alesmith based on the last mystery beer. I couldn't come up with anything from Alesmith that was spiced and not barreled.

Thought I would take a quick look under the tap on the cap to see if I could figure it out from that.

I was focused on the wrong coast. Only one spiced stout comes to mind from CCB, but could it be?

Holy Shit.....CCB Huna. Never would have figured it out. Way too generous.
Thanks again for the awesome box @andreizm.

@Elkevjoe is an animal. Pure and simple. Between you and @RayOhioFelton , it is tough to find and opening to spread the JOs love around! That is what you get @CBrodbeck for trying to stray over into the Viper Pit

I really enjoyed it. I've enjoyed every Night Shift brew I've tried.

Has any Newbie not been destroyed by Kevin's JOs bombs? I have some spare bootles I'd like to send.
