To update my comment, just had a mango double milkshake and it might be one of the best beers I've ever had

Lucky bastard. Had the strawberry and was blown away, but it has to be said, you really have to pour the full can out to get the full effect. No half pours with this thick concoction.

That's a shameful point of view you have there, Runofthedillweed. Have you ever sat down and actually tasted a beer or are you just focused on hype and trade value every time you pop a cap?

Others have mentioned similar things but this attitude is all what is wrong with craft beer today. "Dude, these local breweries are killing my trade equity." If someone has the need to buy low, sell high and all that crazy shit, open up an etrade account. Beer is a beverage to consume, not something to apply stock market principles.

100% on point man! Beyond my good friends out of state (or people who are great regular trade partners who hook me up), I don't even trade out Jackie O's, Hoof, etc anymore. I've found that almost every BA or Sour from Jackie O's I've traded away I would have rather kept for myself to drink.

I was at work and unable to comment beforehand. Jackie O's kills stouts and sours. Hoof Hearted is the king of hops in Ohio. Trading is fun, but rarely worth the hassle and the shipping bill. I'd rather stick with my Ohio beers.

Does anyone know if the brewpub has to go cans? I want to run by on my way out of town today but can't find anything on the website.

They sometimes get cans after a Sunday release at Marengo so I wouldn't imagine they have anything at the moment, but you could get a growler fill.

Awesome. Thanks. Will they fill a growler with anything of theirs?

Yeah I believe they will fill whatever is on tap and you can bring your own growler which is nice.

Uhhh so what about Fat Heads? I love both breweries with Fat Heads probably being my favorite, but I would never claim them (or any brewery) to be the King of hops in Ohio.

    Or Columbus...or JAFB...

I know you and I are on the same page here. Hoof has a hell of a long way to go to be declared "the king of hops in Ohio" (in my opinion, of course).

We may have different opinions on which is the "king". Regionality might play a role. I'm from Columbus, not Cleveland/Akron. Hoof Hearted is the most reasonable drive, and as a result is my most visited.

In any case, I can damn well enjoy a Fat Head's and Hoof beer on the same day... and Bodhi in a bottle to boot! We live in a damn great beer state.

Really chill release here at hoof right now. They have both tickling the ivories and dancin in the ruins available can wise.

Dancin in the ruins is very tasty. Very much like the cereal milk leftover from Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I dig it!

I generally frown on being a keyboard warrior type, but you are a fucking idiot if you think Ohio's beer scene is struggling.

I know I said I wasn't going to this one... An unreleased trip to the outlet mall convinced me otherwise.

They nailed the mouthfeel on Dancin' in the Ruins. Lactose gives way to creamy (well balanced) cinnamon and vanilla. I think the lesson was learned from overdoing the cinnamon with Miracle Toast.

In short, this beer is awesome and will be an early-morning way to welcome the Buckeyes back to football season. I can't say it's my favorite from HH, but it was worth getting two 4pks.
