Pretty quiet at 1pm for trying everything on draft, Damfino 3 still on for Growlers. Good stuff, but nothing I would wait hours for.

I know it may seem self-righteous to call out this behavior, but there's nothing wrong with acknowledging the more unappealing aspects of the "culture" as it exists today. It's troubling that early morning high gravity beer bottle shares, beer crews, and overnight line-ups for IPAs are celebrated as cutting edge cultural activities.

Both releases were being served at Festival of Dankness yesterday. No line for me to try them. And I would agree with poster above that the single was tasting better than the double.

I also got to tick the elusive frogout. All that is left is blackrider and Xul then my BA untapped tick collection will be complete.

Still haven't tried their beer but I Love the hip hop references monkish is doing. Much respect for paying homage to late San Jose/Milpitas rapper Charizma "dreaming of the usual"

I haven't been in a Trillium line for more than 30 minutes since the second brewery opened in December. (Other Half collab and maybe an Artaic release). Usually the line is not more than 5 minutes.

The only line in NE that gets close to this Monkish malarkey is Maine Beer Company's Dinner releases, of which there are 4 per year, and the beer is not worth it in my opinion. Good, but not worth 4+ hours in line.

I think I remember a sunday session podcast from june 2015, when Henry said Monkish would never brew an ipa

I mean, I typically roll my eyes when I see businesses overtly changing stances to follow trends, but Monkish addressed this on their blog:

    http://www.monkishbrewing.com/blog/ipa.html

Whether or not to believe the "We were always going to do it someday!" line is entirely up to you.

    Over on Instagram/Facebook:

NEW BEER! DANKNESS DAILY is another hazy IPA at 6.7% ABV with Mosaic, Simcoe, Nelson and Citra hops! This beer is available only at the tasting room and YES: Growler fills are available! We don't have growlers, (they're ordered and on their way!) so BYOG!

Hoping this lasts until Friday for fills. Definitely down for that hop bill.

Two different Hazy IPAs on Draft and they'll fill blank/covered growlers in 750ml/1L/2L sizes. This is shaping up to be a nice alternative to lining up for cans.

Yeah these draft/growler releases are much better. Hope the trend keeps up.

But.... but.... I just bought a new chair for the 4 hour wait in line

In all honesty I love the fact they keep releasing stuff for draft/growler only too

I think this Dankness might be favorite so far of the growler only IPAs

I just popped open my growler fill of Damfino 3 and it was under-filled. I'd say I was missing a good 6-8 ounces of liquid. I had a feeling it was under-filled based on weight but I convinced myself the bar keep was experienced enough that my worries were unfounded. This was a stainless steel growler, btw.

IPA is tasting great both on draft and out of the can.

DIPA is good but not great in comparison both on draft and out of the can. Hope it develops into something better after a couple of weeks in the can.
