    I'm weak.

On the way home my phone rings:

    Me: hello?
    Wife: where are you?
    Me: on the road.
    Wife: where did you go?
    Me: .............to get some beer.
    Wife: where?
    Me: ......................
    Wife: hello?
    Me: ........what?
Wife: YOU WENT TO CARTON DIDNT YOU?
    Me: ........
    Wife: I'm hanging up now!

    Verbatim.

Was hoping to sneak into the side door and load the fridge before she got home. The drive from Princeton to Atlantic Highlands to Moorestown ain't easy but boy oh boy is it worth it. And my old man will be pleased to get some great brews for his birthday tomorrow. Found myself singing "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" while loading the fridge.

Maybe I should have told my wife "something about Augie's cans is so alluring."

Looks to me like you needed that stop. Your fridge is very Carton heavy.

Well...I always "need" a Carton stop. The fridge wasn't too bad before the stop. I have a lot of beer from Alchemist, some SN, some Troegs Hop Knife, some other random VT beers. A mashup of random stuff really. Can't have enough Carton though.

I tend to get into the argument that my beer is taking up too much space and we can't fit groceries. So I'll say that most of the groceries will probably end up being thrown out, my beer will never go to waste.

Ended up grabbing some Motueka cans today. The wife was driving down 36 and turned down 1st Ave for a "surprise". I'm a lucky man

Anyone going to Blind Tiger tomorrow? Thinking about it but the heat really makes me want to walk up the the street to the beach instead.

If Blind Tiger was secretly pouring KBBS, PtY, and Julius I'd have a hard time getting myself up to go there. Loathe isn't the word for the space and clientele they attract.

The word is perhaps Tourist/Touristism b/c that's the attraction; Blind Tiger pops up in every search engine + it's a stomping ground for startups and name recognition

Ehhh the regulars are worse than the tourists. Good luck getting near a bartender in that place.

I think I might venture over and give it a shot. If I can grab at least one pint ill call it a win.

Um, that SS 2012 that just snuck up on tap... might need to go have that today just to reminisce of my sweet, sweet times of living down on Center Avenue and taking a stroll to Carton and having this.

I'm at blind tiger now. Not too bad and Cartons are already pouring.

Waiting until later when it cools down a bit to head over. Hopefully nothing kicks between now and then

You should be fine, there is a crowd but a lot less crowded than i thought it would be. No real wait for drinks and I was able to snag a seat at the bar.

@DrStiffington I was going to post this in the OH thread for continuation so it would make the most sense, but I resisted out of respect for appropriate thread content!

In regard to how you and others (@aecliptic ) have enlightened me to the ease of traveling to Carton, I didn't realize the ferry drops you off right there!

The last departing times look a bit challenging and am I reading this correctly, on weekends it doesn't stop at Atlantic Highlands? Is there something other than Seastreak (that's not driving) that people use?

It definitely stops in the Highlands. If you were doing carton on a Saturday you can leave 35th street at 10:30am, 1:20pm, and 430pm. Takes about an hour from those times to the Highlands. You can leave the Highlands at 330, 530, 730.

You are correct in there being no AH stop on weekends. I believe there is a shuttle from Highlands or as Augie has previously suggested you could rent a bike at Kranky's and its a great ride along the bay. It's probably 15 minutes.

Cool thanks. Biking doesn't sound like a bad idea!

Ah yeah I read that wrong also. :astonished: The two terminals are 2 miles apart or so. A ten minute bike ride or $8-10 in a cab. My apologies on my reading comprehension.

No worries, the difference really is just splitting hairs.
