Just my two cents, so take this with however many grains of salt you find appropriate.

I'm a big fan of this regional forum, and this thread in particular. I think it's a very helpful thread, and a great place for folks from out of the area to come and obtain information about local breweries, bars, restaurants, special events and what have you, that they might not be able to find in any other way. However, the last part of my statement is key. Again, just speaking for myself here, but I do find it just a tad annoying when someone posts a request for information that they could very easily find for themselves, with either a phone call, an email information request, or a Beerfly (places now on BA) search.

Again, this is just me, but what I always do when visiting a different BA regional forum and submitting an information request from the local membership, is that I start off by telling everyone what efforts I've already made to try to find the information I'm looking for (ie., forum searches, thread searches, beerfly reviews, phone calls, etc.). In my experience, that always seems to get a more favorable and friendly response from the local membership, than the sort of reply I get when it appears I've made absolutely no effort to try to obtain the information on my own (especially if the locals conclude that the information is very easy to obtain, and that it appears I'm just too lazy to look for it on my own).

In this case, if the OP had mentioned that he had already read over this thread (and so had some insight as to crowler sales), and had also phoned and emailed the brewery to inquire about their crowler policy, I'm pretty sure there wouldn't have been any of the aggressive sarcasm your concerned about.

Of course once the OP mentioned that he was an engineer, then everything became a lot more clear... :-)

I totally understand what you're saying, however I guess I just take the approach of ignoring posts that annoy me (unless they are factually inaccurate, then I feel compelled). For instance, I get a little (maybe a lot) annoyed with folks that start a new thread in a regional forum and simply ask for suggestions on where to go ('can't miss' breweries, bottle shops, etc.) when there are already extremely thorough lists with this information in the 'Visiting ... ' threads. I'm actually continually amazed at how many times this happens. However, I just choose to ignore these threads or politely point these folks to the appropriate 'Visiting ... ' thread.

What I refer to as a tad 'aggressive' here in the NW forums is quite mild compared to other regions I think (maybe even a little too chummy for some places). Which is why I wouldn't say that I'm 'concerned' about it at all ... just a bit surprised since everyone here is typically so willing to be helpful.

In any case, I hope the rest of everyone's day is much more cheerful!

I'm not sure that other regional threads have the quality and up to date visiting threads that we have here in the NW forums. So maybe they just assume that's the case in this forum too? Although that's sort of hard to miss since the title includes "Summer 2016" or whatever season it is.

That's a good point, as I don't visit the other regional threads much. Just another reason why the northwest is the best, right?

While you have them on the phone, ask if they have Pliny on as a guest tap. That seems to be the #1 telephone beer request known to mankind.

Hey guys, Paul from Great Notion here. We are in the process of choosing a vendor for a new digital tap board that will simultaneously sync/post what's on tap and what's available as a crowler each day to our FB page, website and also Untappd. Just evaluating the different solutions for that right now: Tap Lister, Tap Hunter and the new Untappd for Biz. We should have that in place in the fall. Thanks everyone!

Looking at Untappd checkins, both Juice Box and Juice Jr. were big hits at the Festival of Dankness in San Diego. I guess the overly bitter San Diego style IPA is dead.

Quite a conclusion to draw based on a festival and untappd check ins.

I'm assuming you're referring to me? I do realize what sarcasm is ... I just thought that it came off as a little aggressive. Just my opinion. Aggressiveness and sarcasm are certainly not mutually exclusive. Seems like the poster I was referring to agreed with me and expressed his reasoning for the aggressive tone, which I understand completely. I thought that was the conclusion of this particular discussion. I appreciate your input, though.

Back on topic ... it will be great when Great Notion has a better method to advertise to the public which beers are currently on tap. But what I'm most excited about is being able to see what they will be offering for crowler fills on any given day. Glad to hear this is in the works!

Hey guys, we are now going to be regularly updating our tap list (and showing which ones we are crowlering) daily to our FB page, Untappd page and website. On FB, there is now a "beer list" on the left hand side. We normally beef up the taps for the weekend too, so check for the weekend tap list Friday afternoon.

Just came here to add that Party In your Mouth, brewed with experimental hops, blood orange and Pop Rocks, is the most offensive beer I have ever tasted. Doesn't even earn an A for effort.

agreed. I tried a sample. good thing I didnt order a full glass. I thought it was because I was sick and my pallet was off. Truly a horrible beer and the first real miss from GN.

that said, I appreciate experimenting with new things. These guys are truly creative

I would have to agree with both of you. Hands down the worst beer I've had from GN.

Though, having tried so many of their beers, I'm still impressed that it took this long for them to make something that I didn't love.
