New Glarus 12 oz. Belgian Red

    As topping on the cake for a very fun Great Taste weekend, I came across a rare New Glarus gem that I wanted to share here. In my ever-expanding search to complete my NG bottle collection, I had the good fortune of acquiring a 12 ounce bottle of Belgian Red (2003/4ish). I hadn't previously seen a picture of these anywhere so I figured I'd post one in case anyone else is interested. From what I understand they also released Raspberry Tart in 12 oz. bottles (possibly around 2005?) but I've never seen one. If anyone else has any more info, please share here!

    Yeah, at some point. Not sure when though - definitely a special occasion!

    There was another thread in here where someone brought old fruit beers to New Glarus and shared with Dan Carey. Dan seemed very interested in capturing some of the yeast I believe. I bet he would love to revisit this one :-)

    Not entirely sure about that. Looks like he was thrilled to do it in 2012, 2015 not so much...your results may vary though.

    I located a picture of the 12 oz. Raspberry Tart. This one is from 2007, but from what I can tell they also had them in 2005. If anyone has one of these, please let me know!

    If Thanksgiving is a "special occasion" to you, I can attest that this beer goes very well with turkey and all of the fats associated with the traditional T-Day meal.
