    Terrapin Hi 10

    Habanero Mango DIPA

ive been sayin im burnt out on hops and all that but i couldn't pass this up. And let me tell you

    You see it
Smells like some mango some sweet malt and astringent i believe 9.5% abv. Quite high.
Here we go. Low carbonation. Creamy and very oily. Sticky. Nice mango. Not super sweet.
The Habanero is there but you should let it warm. Enough to make you sweat a bit. You feel the heat on your lips and throat. Slight taste of the pepper you have to look for it. So well balanced. Wish i had more than 1

My only quip is it could be hotter but itll make your nose run if you arent used to spice. I love hot peppers and this is unique for me and very tasty. Its pretty much perfect for me for what it is and this is me talking not the beer. halfway through and its my first of the day but it does give me slight immediate heartburn. But so does milk so.....

As a surfer, not because of the label really at the same time it would be perfect to bring to the beach. I dont condone surfing and drinking but a nice cool ocean breeze and this beer....that's all i need.

    Cheers.

I have tried Simple Means and enjoyed it a bunch. It was a bit less smokey and more JK earthy, while Gotlandsdricka is more sour ... I think. Both are good and very interesting--one thing Jester King does well is the interesting. :grinning:

Huevos is mostly chihuahua (obviously) but he has some kind of pincher mixed in. He's bigger than the smallest of chihuahuas but still quite small -- just 10 pounds. His nose is almost dachshund like too, long for a chihuahua. Sweet dog ... loves people and isn't yappy/mean/noisy, although he will yell at Midnight the Cat to stay out of his food.

    Oh ... and he's a rescue.

Highs in the 90s and we're going with big-ass stouts. Hell Yes. Makes this Texan want to give a Yankee a bear hug. :grinning:

I'm nursing home a new beer for me on this late Sunday night, 11 Below Brewing's Lame Duck pale ale.

No full review yet but it's about a 4 look, 5 aroma, 3.75 taste, 3.5 feel and 3.75 overall for the numbers. The aroma is full onion bomb, which is a personal favorite. It's got that meaty steak-and-onions aroma that gets me all excited. Flavor is grapefruit, green onions and something just a bit tropical and sweet ... peaches also come to mind but just a pinch of that. Mouthfeel is ale soft, perhaps a bit slick. It's not bad but I'd like a little more carbonation.

Overall a solid American pale ale. Got it at the Whole Foods on Waugh in Houston, which I can't recommend enough if you're ever in that area. Their bar ALWAYS has something new worth trying and everything is fresh as a daisy.

    Cheers, late night NBS!
