I fly into Denver tomorrow afternoon for a 3-day seminar and am hoping to take home a few beers. I am specifically looking to find Russian River, locally available Avery gems, Casey sours, and Juicy Bits, and I am generally interested in floral IPAs, sours, almost anything from a barrel, old ales, and big chewy stouts. I am aware of some of the local better-known bottleshops like Mr. B's and bars like Falling Rock, but are there other spots I should be looking?

I certainly am not aiming to clear shelves or rob locals if their own local gems. I just want to return to NC with some local Denver flavor to share.

    Any help here is appreciated.

    Thanks and Cheers
    Adam

Argonaut liquor store is close to downtown, and is usually good. Other places close to the area: Mondo Vino, Small Batch, Highlands Liquor are also good.
If you have access/will to drive a bit:
    Molly's
    Mile High Wine/Spirits
    Grapevine

That should fill up your luggage!

For Juicy Bits you'd have to go up to Weldwerks in Greeley. But if you want juicy, hazy IPAs that you can buy packaged in Denver, look for Odd 13

I'm heading to Denver in a week, wondering about shipping beer back? Are store setup for boxing and shipping or is there a good place to get proper beer shippers?

I don't frequent Denver often, but 2 Penguins claims they have Juicy Bits on tap, so you might check there. Ditto on Odd 13. Just buy it all

Well, if that's the case... My suggestion would be to hit up WeldWerks, Patrick's Irish Pub (they typically have a great tap list), and Brix Taphouse (all less than a mile walking distance). Wiley Roots is also up there.

I managed to fill two 12-bottle shippers with some quality bottles and cans by driving all over Denver (after driving to Greeley) and following the advice of the well-informed.

My experience with this thread was what I consider a true example of beer advocacy. Thanks to all who replied in this thread and who sent additional info via PM.

If you guys are not already aware, Pliny and Temptation were released in a few spots yesterday including Little's Wine and Liquor (S. Downing St) and Mr. B's.

    Thanks again and Cheers!!

The following is [to the best of my memory] what went into the bottle shippers:

3 x WW Juicy Bits Crowlers
    2 x WW Remember A Day Crowlers
2 x WW Apricot Gose Crowlers
    4 x RR Consecration
    1 x RR Temptation
    1 x RR Pliny
    2 x LA Red Poppy
    3 x Casey Montmorency

2 x 2013 De Dolle Oerbier Reserva (fantastic 10% sour, becoming more scarce these days)
    1 x Avery Xolotl
2 x AC Golden Kriek Noir

I am especially pumped about the Casey and AC Golden bottles.

I just returned to Florida from a visit to Denver last week and managed to ship the following brews home: All are 4 packs or 6 packs unless noted:

    Eddyline Crank Yanker
Odd13 Duraznodor, Hopparella and Codename Superfan
    Cumbre Elevated IPA
    Bout Damn Time IPA
    Weldwerks Juicy Bits Crowler
    Melvin IPA and 2x4 DIPA
    Station 26 Single Hop IPA
    Denver Beer Company Incredible Pedal
Pliny the Elder - 2 bottles

Visited Odd13 at their 3 year anniversary party as well as Weldwerks, Comrade, Oskar Blues Lyons. Best Beer bar was Falling Rock near Coors Field where I had more than a few Pliny the Elders on tap and the food was very good.

Many thanks to the folks in this forum for solid input on available great beers in the Denver area. Next time I'm driving so I can make a bigger haul coming back !

For an IPA list, that's pretty phenomenal. I'm sure we could all nitpick with our random faves, but that's doing things right on the hoppy side.

    Hi guys -

I did some searching on the forum for must dos in Denver and I got a lot of threads with long itineraries and lots of options. I'm mostly wondering though, if I have one day in Denver, what should I do? Open to whatever, thanks!
