Now disrespect but does anybody else get annoyed when something asks "how something is tasting" or is it just me.

I don't find it annoying as many other post I've read read that can be directly answered by calling up the brewery.

That's unfortunate. I've filled up my stainless steel growler over a dozen times and it's almost always overfilling. Hopefully it was just a one off oversight!

btw, there were 3 IPAs on draft yesterday. Dreaming, Damfino, and Dankness.

This is the first time it's ever happened. I assume they were trying to close the lid on foam but were maybe a little too overzealous. Definitely going to shoot them an email or something.

I like reading people's thoughts on beers I don't always agree and of course I want to try something myself but I still like hearing feedback How is it any different than reading reviews here?

It's a fair question from the OP. Nobody else gets annoyed. You're just old and cranky.

    Now git.

I opened up my 32oz growler Dam2 over the weekend and it was filled to the top. Tasted awesome after sitting for 1O days. Will open my Dam3 this weekend. Will stop in tomorrow and fill with something else. Most of the time if its filled to the top you shouldn't have any issues. Back in the day when KRBC was filling growlers with Citra I had one that was about 1-2 inches from the top. And I had issues.

What time you stopping over tomorrow? Figured I'd say hello if times intersected. I'll be there between 5:30 and 6.

That would of been great to meet my you. I leave LAX at 215. With Friday traffic to HB it's a nightmare. So I like to stop in right after work, fill up and have a glass before jumping back on the crawl home. I figure I'm fuk'd anyways so way not a bit more.

Would love to see Monkish go the Crowler route.... heck they could kick-starter it in exchange for $1 off fills or something like that and I bet it'd get funded easily.

Agree 100%. I wonder what the expense is for that kind of equipment. I'm surprised more places in Southern California don't do it.

Then there'd be lines for days with people wanting to get some of that Monkish stuff in cans.

Going to Portland and seeing how prevalent crowlers are was a revelation. The fact that I could walk into a beer bottle shop/tasting room, with tons of different brewery's beers on taps, and pick any one of them for a crowler, growler, etc was pretty awesome.

Machine reportedly runs about $3,000. Then you order/sell the labeled cans per unit. Stone charges $1.50 on top of the liter fill price for a crowler, which I think is a great price point to be able to walk away with a liter of fresh beer and not have to lug my glass around with me all the time. The biggest downside is storing the unfilled crowlers, which obviously take up a significant amount of space if they're delivered by the pallet. Since space is a problem for Monkish, not sure how feasible that would be.

Anyone heard of any expansion plans for Monkish? Their business park seems to have a few vacancies and Monkish's business seems to be booming compared to a couple years ago.

There was headspace maybe an inch below the bottom of the neck of the growler so there was plenty oxygen exposure along with space to lose carbonation, which it did. Not really upset, but I did bring it to their attention when I stopped by there today to let them know it should be something to watch out for. The bar keep ended up giving me a taster on the house, which was much appreciated.

i guess the closest place would be Smog City. they have cool growlers. would be a shame to to buy a growler from there and not fill it. think you should buy one and dome, then fill

I know the Bruery sells blanks. Stone's Pasadena store does too -- but doubt either of those are really close enough for what you need. Anybody else have ideas?
