    Today, after an 18+ month long battle with several types of cancer, I lost my father. He was a stubborn bastard and held out months longer than the initial predictions,but in the end the cancer in his liver was too aggressive and treatment was halted.

    I credit my father with my love of beer, and I felt it appropriate to have one in his name. For pretty much the entirety of his illness he was unable to drink, partially to reduce stress on his body but mostly because it no longer tasted good due to the side effects of chemo and radiation. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was always his go to and was the first beer I shared with him, and so today I'll have one in his honor.

    I miss you dad. Prost.

    I had this beer several years back on my first trip to Sweden and it is one of my favorite Swedish beers, and an excellent English Bitter. I actually saw it yesterday but did not buy it. I should have as it would've been a great post for Throwback Thursday. Cheers and enjoy!
