I'll be on a business trip out to San Diego (specifically around Camino Del Rio South) from Sep 10-13th and would like some California BAs advice on any good shops around that area and what should I be looking for I can't get in Colorado. I'm a big fan of sours, bourbon aged beers, and barley wines. I might be able to bring a couple Colorado brews out if anyone is interested in a ip trade.

On a non beer note are there any staple local restaurants I need to hit up around that area?

    Cheers

I just moved to San Diego and don't have the knowledge of many around here, but Bine and Vine, as suggested above, is really close and has a great selection, and, if you have a car, Olive Tree in Ocean Beach is worth checking out. Also, Blue Water Seafood isn't too far. Here's the thread that I have been using for most of my beer and food adventures in SD: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/san-diego-for-your-consideration.25550/
Also, here is a nice map that, i think, nanobrew put together:

Do any stores stock cascade or HOTD? Can you buy RR beatification in stores? Does CA also have a shortage of Cantillion?

I've seen barrel aged boris in stores but I'd have to check again.

Cascade and Cantillon both barely see any distribution down here, and when it does it gets bought up same day.

Beatification is a brewery only release.

Hair of the Dog is sold at every good bottle shop around here.

Neighborhood is a great place, as already mentioned.

there's a place called Best Damn Beer Shop in downtown SD, not too far from where you'll be. they recently expanded and have a really good selection. it's also right down the street from neighborhood, if you decide to eat there.

i ditto all the other people to visit bine & vine. tiger! tiger! and blind lady ale house are both great places to eat. toronado is a bar with a ton of fantastic beers on tap. i've also heard some great things about the regal beagle for sausages and beer!

You have the barrel aged Emboozlement Trippel? For some odd reason, I really like that.

Of all places in SD, how on earth did you choose Rough Draft?

Seemed like it had more beers than most of the breweries in SD. It was between that and Alesmith for me.
