Wow! People actually do that??? I figured anyone willing to get in line at 7am would know what the beers were? Why would anyone line up for hours and not know what is offered?

TD reminded me a lot of these NE hoppy beers, it blows my mind they so many dislike it when it seems that whenever OH mentions anything "juice" people begin to lose their shit for it. Asides from second anniversary this is OH's closest matching to the NE despite the fruit being added.

Yeah, when we have 7 beers for sale (like the last two releases) then it can be kind of extra annoying to explain them all.

I'm actually more surprised at people who line up and just get 1 4pk.

What are the other releases? Going to be on a little beercation with two friends, we're gonna be in line at OH early.

I mean, half the beers Other Half releases didnt exist before the release. I understand Other Half has a longer track recored but people still line for hours for beers that no one has ever tried before.

Definitely bring a bag, the cardboard turned liquid by the time I got to my car. Bring a chair and a hat, there is no shade in the line. Last release was 115 degree heat index, and it was brutal sitting in the sun. But if you are from Texas, maybe you are used to it. If you are drinking, bring a garbage bag. It was disappointing seeing all of the empties left on the sidewalk and stacked on top of neighbors garbage cans. There is a bottle return center on the corner, people were handing their empties off without getting out of line. No excuse for disrespecting the neighbors by littering. Otherwise, a very calm, friendly atmosphere.

Lol whut. There is nothing these guys are doing that isn't a serious, highly intentional cash grab at this point. They opened their brewery a year ago loudly and proudly trumpeting the fact that that wanted to specialize in "Belgian-style ales." Now they bill themselves as focusing on "American sour ales and hoppy delights." And that's to say nothing of their stouts with what... 4 or 5 adjuncts? #blessed

    So harsh!

They're making great beer that will sell and give them more opportunity to experiment with things like their coolship. Is it different from what they started with, sure. Once they released IPA, it seemed obvious they were starting to brew beer that would appeal to a wider variety of drinkers.

Sure, it's really cool and edgy right now to make fun of breweries for things like 16 oz canned hoppy beer and adjunct stouts, but at the end of the day it's more good beer for us in the city.

They still have plenty of Belgian styles on tap, they have the coolship, etc. God forbid they try and make beer in line with customer demand and make some money. Although I suppose you could classify any profitable business move as a CASH GRAB, guess every successful business in the city is guilty of constant cash grab moves.

Weird to see someone in an OH thread trashing a brewery for canning an ipa. Particularly when said brewery has been making some great hoppy beers lately. I mean it'd be nuts to open and think a year later you'll be Allagash or Cantillon.

Same can be said for Singlecut, who aimed to focus on well made lagers when the opened. Had to switch gears to appeal to what the people wanted. Now they have about 10 IPAs and an imperial stout, but don't think anyone is mad at them

Harsh dude. You know as well as I do that no one would give a shit about their Belgians if they canned or bottled them - hell, Kane does it all the time and the things sit on shelves for weeks or months. The people have spoken and they want IPAs. Not only that, LIC makes damned good IPAs - Samo is as good as most any OH IPA I've tried.

agreed more in the realm of soft and drinkable, dont get me wrong OH do some of these but more often then not OH focuses on making abrasive west coast style ales

Came out harsher than I meant it to, but my main point was meant to be that they are clearly not kidding around with the #Haze #hazefordays #juicy etc. hashtags as someone else suggested. Pretty clearly jumping on the NE IPA bandwagon unironically.

We should get back on topic though....mod can delete as he/she feels fit. Or not!
