Would he be able to take the recipes if he leaves? On the signs, it said they will be have higher quantities next time.

I had it at oak park micro brew review today as well. One of the highlights of the fest for me but I can't say Iwould have waited in line for hours for this. Props to those who braved the rain today though. By no means a disappointment.

Is Juicy really worth standing in line for either?? I've had it, it's awesome, I want more, but last time we were able to get it at least the next day (if not two?) later. Why bother with the line nonsense? Seems like either WAY more people have nothing better to do than I would have thought or fear of missing out is really that strong?

Respectfully disagree. I was there at 11, and almost nobody came behind me in line except people's who got their 2 at the front and were double dipping (reasonable considering they only got 2). So I think just about everyone got some, albeit jus 1 or 2 bottles

Personally I didn't quite have the time and ended up doing it anyway. I thought from what I'd read they could get through things much faster. But once you've waited for an hour, you're committed.

I guess i misspoke-I just knew that there were people in line behind me and there were people still in line when they ran out. Whether they were first timers or people who got back in line, I would not have known. My bad.

Yeh some people got a third behind me for sure - but not many. If someone showed up at noon I guess they would have missed out - about 4 guys behind me were in line for the first time but after that a bunch were going back for a third.

Regardless - I can't do that again for just 1 bottle of beer. Hopefully they do something for the next release.

For one bottle of a non-BA stout, waiting in line like this is ridiculous. Tried it at Oak Park, it was decent. Give me a Pipeworks S'more Money- no line no limit ANY day.

Juicy was fine. It's a pretty good beer but now what all these RAM heads are making it out to be. Again, I'll take a juicy new england style IPA from Mikerphone over it any day of the week.

It's cool to see RAM upping their game and making moves. But the amount of hype does not equal the quality of the beer or quantity of people waiting for it for me yet.

I respectfully disagree with your Pipeworks S'more Money comparison. From what I remember that beer hides all adjuncts added. Graham crackers have been virtually undetectable. Some chocolate comes through from cacao nibs with a small amount of cinnamon. As for S'More Luv, I could literally taste everything they put into that beer. Chocolate was huge, vanilla was on point, and those honey graham crackers really came through as it warmed up.

I'm happy with people not believing the hype because its there and I'm 100% with it.

The mouth feel on any of the side notes is ridiculous. Some adjuncts are better than others, but the beer consistently delivers the best mouth feel of any non BA beer I've had.

I think most people in that line would agree with you. Myself included. Hopefully they figure something out in the future. I will probably give it one more try.

Personally, I do like the fact that it's a restaurant. The one reason I may be willing to go back - I think my wife could take my kids, drop me off, go shopping for an hour or two and then meet back at the restaurant to eat lunch. If it's only a 1-2 hour wait, that's an OK thing for us on a Saturday where we don't have anything planned.

(Worth pointing out that the first 150 people got 2, but 44oz vs 22oz doesn't really change the point all that much).

Their location isn't bad- for sure. Drop the wife and kiddos off at Lego land over there and wait for your bottles. If this was a BA bottle akin to BA Dino S'mores- I could see the hype train. Being a regular stout- I can't comprehend it.

Yeah - I guess my point is I don't think this long of a wait was expected. An hour or so, but this was a lot more than that and you only got 1. Also, in the past they'd had releases on tap as well. Maybe that was Juicy and not side note.

I had my 4-year old in tow for this, he's pretty good as long as I've got his tablet, though the nearly 2 hours was pushing it. We ate lunch there afterward, I tried the IPA for ALS which was pretty good.

No I'm a guy that enjoys excellent beer and willing to stand in line for it. If you're not then just don't do it. It's as easy as that. I don't get the countless messages on this thread giving people crap for doing what they want with their time and money.

Agreed. These days? Be prepared to stand in line and if you are SOMEHOW surprised by that....come out, come out from whatever rock you have been hiding under for the last, oh, say, 3 years or so:wink::sunglasses::rolling_eyes::rolling_eyes:

I'll be honest...there are two things I just don't understand on here:

    1) People crapping on how much (pick a beer) costs
    2) People crapping on (pick a brewery) being overrated

I get stating your opinion, but repeatedly belittling people for wanting to buy/wait for a certain beer?! Seems childish.

Considering I've already seen it close once for Chocolate Rain+ and another time for FO I'd say it's well worth the hype (or at least waiting in line to get one).

Part of the hype is because there are a lot of beer geeks (myself included, not an insult) in the suburbs of Chicago, but ultimately not mich craft beer happening in the suburbs. The biggest Chicago Brewers are in Chicago and suburbanites can't get to all of those events/releases.

So when great beer happens in the suburbs (RAM, Mikerphone, etc...) it gets more hype than if it was happening in Chicago city limits.

    That's my take anyway...
