So, I'm running a BIF for the NBS thread, this new version will be #4, and the NW forum lacks a bit of representation. @woemad , @kemoarps , and myself rep WAlezbroington (told ya I was stealing that shit), but Orygunz is missing. @sharpski , and all the rest of you hermits of the high desert and rainforest, what say? Lets get in!!!

Details: It's NBS eligible beers for your target (which means, hey! Shelf brews!) Some swag, and a willingness to post a couple reviews on the NBS thread on the group share date. I'm happy to give more info, (psst, here's the Hints n Hauls thread from the last one, there are still LIFs and ninja boxes being sent. Feel free to fast forward to page 75-ish.), we can show those PA and Northeasters who rocks a box!

Is it @mudbug who always complains about no distro on his abandoned oil rig just outside Seaside? :astonished:

Well, would you like to get involved in a big, circular, beer trade? One that involves a few weeks of supplying vague hints to ones target, while also deciphering hints to figure out who your sender is? Do you like trying non-hyped brews that are new to you? Do you have favorite local brews that you think others folks might enjoy? DO YOU LOVE 'MURKA? IF you love all the Olympic gold medals that Murika won, you can repay your debt by sending Murkin brews to some poor soul in another part of the country who doesn't have access to your awesome selection of tasty beverages.

So, to directly answer your post, yes, I can put translate my post to 'Muruhkan.

While I have a basic idea of what a BIF is, I have no idea what a "NBS eligible beer" is, what a "ninja box" is, or the specific forum thread you are referring to. For someone that is trying to drum up interest, you are not making a compelling case.

I'm pretty sure that "NBS" refers to "New Beer Sunday," a popular and long-running recurring thread in the "Beer Talk" forum, and therefore a "NBS eligible beer" is a beer which the recipient has never had:

    New Beer Sunday (week 600)

As for "ninja box," I'm not certain. It could be a special box which shows up unexpectedly. Or it's a box that's so stealthy it can hide right in front of you until you trip over it.

@vurt sums it up nicely. New Beer Sunday is a thread where we try new to us beers each week, and review, or at least give up a few words, about the beer. A NBS eligible beer would be one that your target (the person you're sending beer to) hasn't had before. That makes local shelf beers perfect. A ninja box is just a random box you send to a participant that's not your target. You don't have to send them, but maybe you just feel like sending a reward for some reason.

In the last one, one participant decided to send a box to the person who group voted as having sent the best box. Then a couple other folks stepped up with 2nd and 3rd place boxes. And, I just realized I didn't actually provide the link (mea culpa, I had had a long, beery NBS when I posted that) https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/triple-threat-nbs-bif-3.388922/ . There are still LIF boxes related to the BIF being sent.

That sounds like fun! I will have to wait till I get partially through a couple boxes of beer I have in queue before I should ask to join in that fun. Not enjoying this whole wife trying to be healthy by cutting our drinking thing.

Glad to help where I might be able to. I assume in keeping with the general attitude I see applied towards Seattle/Portland I am supposed to officially say we have beer, but you don't really want it, or want to travel to our completely burned down area to try it?

You got it. The lack of hype for our breweries is because they're all mediocre, and any awards/accolades are dumb luck. Not the droids you're looking for, brah.
