Saw Super Going, about 8 of them at ABC beer last night for 11.99.

Those prices though. Not only has the glassware gone up in price but the shipping is now outrageous. Might have to wait until they have a space for local pickup. The Tesseract glass I ordered back in February for $16 with shipping comes to almost $30 now. I was about to order 3 until I saw that just the shipping would be over $30!

 

Those look awesome but I'll just wait until Grimm opens up shop in NYC to buy their glassware

 

Yea, those shipping prices are pretty crazy. It would be fine if shipping was the same for multiple glasses but it only goes up the more glasses you order. It goes from 12.80 for glass to 18.70 for two... Does it really cost 6 dollars more to put another glass in a box? Cant imagine glasses are all that heavy.

 

Yeah I love the glasses, but 15 each is a little too much for me to spend. Last time I got their glasses it was 38 shipped for 3.

Now at 15 each, and then over $30 for shipping it is about $75. I will wait until they open a physical space up to pick the glasses up in person.

Some details about the new web store.

We were previously storing all the glassware in our apartment and packing/shipping everything ourselves. With our travel/brewing schedule, this meant that sometimes people would have to wait a month before their order was filled -- plus we could only offer limited options because all of the merch had to literally be stored in our living room.

We got Grandstand, our glassware manufacturer, to create a web store for us. So with the new store, everything is warehoused and shipped directly from the manufacturer in Kansas. This means we can do lots of different designs and stuff. It also means shipping to New York costs more, and we have to raise prices a little bit to pay Grandstand to pack and ship everything.

All the shipping prices are auto-calculated via the USPS priority mail pricing right now (based on weight and dimensions), but we're working on adding more/cheaper options.

At the end of the day it does cost more, but we think it's worth it because we can offer lots more designs and ship glassware to customers right away. These Rastal glass designs are the very best.

 

Ugh, they're no Riedel.

Just kidding, they look great, especially (as pointed out above) that Lumen glass.

 

No doubt those glasses are really beautiful. However, $75 for 3 glasses shipped really?? and its shipped via USPS, who charges flat fee of $13.75 for medium and 18.75 for large boxes.

I really like the idea of using the USPS flat rate boxes, we will communicate that to Grandstand. Since we're not running the store ourselves we can't make these decisions unilaterally.

I think we can maybe fit three glasses into one 12*12*5.5 large flat rate box from USPS that would ship for 18.75.

 

I've given up on those fancy Riedel glasses. They're beautiful but after a couple DIPA's they're just too fragile. I've broken at least a half dozen over the years.

 

Shipping for 4 glasses $37.40 to NYC. That can't be right...Love the glasses but holding off purchasing until the process is corrected.

 

Not to thread drift, but I've broken more Reidels than I can count over the years. At the risk of jinxing myself, I'm a fan of these. What's the difference between a rastal and a teku? I couldn't find much info about that online

 

Rastal is a company that makes glassware. A teku is a style of glass developed by Rastal.

 

Way, way cheaper to ship Grimm beers than it is to ship Grimm glassware. Huh?

I imagine they'll fix this in the near future.

 

Has Afterimage made its way to Union yet @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales ? I haven't seen any updates since Beltway's IG post-canning image.

 

@kegahead Union has Afterimage and Plink, we should see deliveries in a day or two.

 

Looks like a UPS ground option has been added, shipping to NYC for 2 glasses came out to $9.36 with that option.
