I gotta support VA breweries. A VA brewery glass, a VA brewery bottle opener, and a VA brewery beer (South Steet Brewery, Charlottesville, VA).

 

One of my new favorites of summer '16!

 

Just arrived at my father in law's house in Northern KY. Cincinnati guys any recommendations? Plan is to hit to try and hit up Mad Tree and Rinegeist. Any special tappings or anything I should be looking for on shelves?

Next up an MBC Beer IV, haven't had it in a while and saw a fresh bottle, pretty tasty, the cascade and simcoe stand out.

It was bottled in middle of June. Wonder if it is better fresher. It does say to drink within 120 days, so definitely within the window.

..... I was training a new sales team in Dallas. After the scintillating training session, they were bringing in pizza and beer. My retiring agent principal asked, "What kind of beer?" This is the guy who drank Crown by the gallon before I introduced him to Sculpin, and now he's a hophead.

New agent: "Miller Lite, Bud Light, Coors Light."

Retiring agent: "No, that won't work, ovaltine drinks good stuff, you gotta go get some ah-pee-ayes."

Ovaltine: "No, whatever you guys have is fine, really. No worries."

New agent: "No, no, we'll get some stuff. Whaddya want?"

Retiring agent: "Get some ah-pee-ayes."

So they ran out and grabbed a bunch of Deep Ellum IPA and Dream Crusher - and a buncha folks that drink Coors Light got ALL lit up trying to drink Dream Crusher like it was Coors Light. And I sat sipping a couple of cans from a red plastic cup, enjoying life as a beer nerd. Drink well, BA's.
