    A night of stout
3 dark ales of varying, not too shoddy for just before payday
First from far off & exotic Stockport is Unicorn Black a decent enough session bottle and only a few pence from BuMs
The other two costing slightly more beer tokens
    Chicxulub | Brew Age
Which is just your everyday ordinary Austrian stout
    Then
Peated Imperial Stout | Brouwerij Kees

In preparation of Bristol Beer Week (http://www.bristolbeerweek.com/) starting on Saturday visited a few local hostelries :

Lost and Grounded Hop Hand Fallacy
    Moor Guardian of Peace
    Moor Stout
    Moor Confidence

L and G just released their beers and one to watch, lovely light refreshing saison.

Beer week looks great with loads of events culminating in Bristol's first Craft Beer Festival.

I've swapped my Sunday Shift for today
& so after I get home from work tomorrow
    I can have some beer,
    like Saturdays are meant for
& because Monday is Bank Holiday
most people can have some beer on Sunday
    like what's I do.
Just hope I don't feel so drained tomorrow
    as I do now

    It
    Text book citrus tasting IPA
    certainly enjoyable high standard ale
but the whole isn't worth more than the sum of it's parts
though I doubt any beer wouldn't live up to that level of hype & expectation
especially at about £3 a pop

Would be interesting to try a comparison between them all.

Solid start to Bristol Beer Week :

    Arbor Super Yakima
    Arbor Lost in Translation
    Arbor Breakfast Stout
    Dawkins The Unrepeatable
    Dawkins Elderflower Gold
    Dawkins Olicana !
    Dawkins Foresters Black

Solid selections from 2 local breweries, standout, Super Yakima, a ramped up version of APA Yakima Valley at 9.5%. Going to be bottled and definitely one to find.

Went to Edinburgh with my son yesterday for the football and took up an opportunity to catch up with an old pal and have a few beers, had...

    Fallen - Platform C,
    Brewdog - Jet Black Heart,
    Black Isle - Porter,
    McEwans - 80 shilling,
    Ember - Pale Ale,
    Adnams - Mosaic Pale Ale,
    Pilot - Mochaccino Stout,
    Broughton - Dark Dunter.

Had a fab day only spoiled for an hour and a half by the 11 guys on the park pretending to be footballers.

Another nice day attending Bristol Beer Week events :

    Wiper and True Weiss Lines
    Wiper and True Bread Pudding
    Wiper and True Citra
    Siren/Hoppin Frog 5 Alarm
    Beavertown/Founders Tempus Project Claussenii

Standout Citra, showing you only need a single hop and good brewing to make a great ale, Claussenii, well balanced collaborative brett IPA.

I moved to Edinburgh from the US this past week, and have been really enjoying the beers you lot make here in the UK! It's a pretty big adjustment coming from the NYC beer scene to a city where cask ales between 4-5% reign supreme, but so far it's been lovely and I've also been really liking the local pub culture.

I think I had the best beer thus far earlier this evening in Oakham Citra, and hope to find more bitters with a similar fresh assertive hop character.

Have you had stuff from Pilot in Leith yet? My favourite brewery.
