I believe the next one was Motueka/Nelson if I'm not mistaken. And yes, Mylar Bags needs to be in cans, asap.

Someone here said Mylar Bags 2 releases from now on the 24th of Sept.

As close to treehouse doppelganger as can be, except you can pick up 12 cans. Really tasty beer. Seems like they're moving more and more away from the dank ipa style, following market trends.

I've always thought that All Citra is great but slightly overhyped; however, god damn is this batch delicious! Super dialed in.

came in here to post that.

@Kanger - has there been any changes in the brewers at Other Half? I feel the quality has gotten better over the past couple months. Across the board, every beer they've released that has been a rerelease has been slightly different (hazier, less sediment, less boozy, juicier) and IMO better. Noticed this with the latest Hop Showers and now this batch of All Citra Everything.

Not to mention the Simcoe batch is a bit juicier. It still has that rat water/NYC bagel OH bite- which I think makes it more distinct and on the level of NE IPA's- but it's also way more flavorful.

Anyway, as a previous outspoken critic on how OH operates, I will shutup. Their beers are getting better and better.

I've always thought the reason NYC pizza and bagels are sought after would seep its way into craft beer and now it seems multiple breweries are mastering this process all at once. In their own way.

Ha. The beers are getting better AND it's getting easier to obtain them! They're just brewing more and more. I wonder if it's just been the centrifuge giving everything a bit of a different mouthfeel. The beers have gotten so frothy. This Simcoe is definitely better than the previous.

I would say it's more recipe refinement. The only major brewer change was this past Friday when one of our brewers, Brian, left to move to Seattle. He will be missed!

Thoroughly regret skipping this last can release. Other Half has been on a roll since Winter. I always justify skipping releases by telling myself "you can find (insert other quality, fresh local IPA) at the beer distributor down the road that's just as worthy."

I've come to the conclusion that I'm really just lying to myself now.

I love ACE, and this batch is def slammin'. Said it before and I'll say it again, ACE > HF Double Citra. Also, just got back from Houston (missed this super easy/amazing release-dammit!) and gawd I missed NYC beer.

totally agreed. i still think the HF double galaxy is one of the best beers i've ever tasted..but this batch of ACE blows away HF double citra.

Anyone know if cans of Simcoe are still available? Gonna swing by later today to grab some more Boogie Board Stuntz anyway, but extra Simcoe would be an awesome bonus!

A Hop Showers can I had last night had tons of sediment, hopefully it's just that one can since I have 4 more still from this latest batch.

Anyway, really bummed I missed this latest release since I was out of town. Really excited to try Motueka/(Nelson?), Motueka is really starting to grow on me.

Last night I had my last hop showers can from the last batch, and there wasn't any sediment. Aroma fell off slightly, but still the tastiest batch of hop showers i can remember.

Probably just a funky can, it happens sometimes. Tasted great though.

    Per OH's instagram:

    • otherhalfnyc We still have a small amount(about 20 cases) of Simcoe IPA(7%) and plenty of Boogie Board Stuntz(4.7%) kolsch brewed with Mandarina Bavaria and Mosaic left for sale when we open today. $16 per 4 pack for Simcoe and $14 per 4 pack for Boogie Board Stuntz. Open 5-10.

I find it hard to believe that it could blow away a beer like Double Citra unless this batch is that much different than the previous batches.

I expected to fall in love with double citra but was underwhelmed when I tried it a few months ago. I also thought that the ACE I had around that same time was also very good but not what it was hyped up to be. However, this batch of it to my taste buds just seems brighter than the last and much more enjoyable. Also, maybe I got a not so fresh pour of the double citra. I look forward to another try.

Yeah a few cases of Simcoe left. Some was hiding at the bottom of a pallet of Boogie Board.
