Boy midnight is the perfect time to tap a moster beer. I'm all for personal accoutability and all that shit, but lol.

Yeah I was wondering about the beer festival and the hops. Usually I notice small changes with beers but I feel this time it was a big change. I will try more again but I drank over a growler of it already. And I agree out of the three years I have had juju the last bottle release was the best imo

Nothing like drinking a pint or two of an 18% beer at midnight on a Tuesday.

Several times. It's not one that people will want a large pour of, but most people I know won't spend the money for a pour and not finish it.

I just don't get the 120 craze. That beer smells and tastes like jet fuel.

Any news on anything that actually tastes good >12% coming into Ohio?

I would think a number of Avery beers would come our way (Rumpkyn, Uncle Jacobs, Tweak, etc). Also a few Prairie beers like Bomb, Pirate Bomb, Birthday Bomb if we get lucky. I do enjoy 120 Minute but I'm more excited to pick up some WWS from Dogfish instead.

That was what I was trying to hint at regarding unfinished pours, but apparently it went over some heads. The novelty and the fact it's been out of our grasp for so long is what would have brought me there if I hadn't already had it, regardless of the price. Funny enough, I was actually going to use the word gasoline as a descriptor but you beat me to it.

Either way, I'd be curious to know how the events went last night, and what people's experiences were if it was their first time, without an overly glowing and optimistic perspective. I'm sure there were more than a few people that were blind-sided by the fire water. I can't see going out at midnight on a weeknight for something I'd already had, whether I'd enjoyed it or not, knowing it will be on shelves in the future. I'm more interested in Ohio's first official "freedom" brews, and my old lady is going to pick one of those up this morning without me even suggesting it!

Is the SN Fall pack here yet? I know people are reviewing and checking in its beers with reported packaging date of early July but all I see in Columbus shelves is Oktoberfest.

Saw it at the Polaris Costco about an hour ago, so it should be around.

I don't agree with it tasting like jet fuel, even fresh. The only beer I've ever had that was that jet fuel level of alcohol was Black Tuesday.

And you could ask the people who were at Ollie's Place, if you wanted to (from Facebook):

Methinks you missed the whole social media conversation that everyone else hated my bringing up...lmao.

However, I don't think Black Tuesday tastes like gasoline, although it is far more boozy than I prefer. Despite that, I think The Bruery has done a few other high ABV beers that mask the alcohol very well. I think the high level of hopping in combination with the high alcohol is the culprit in making 120 like a forest fire in your mouth. Just outright indiscriminate excess.

I have yet to have a beer by The Bruery... I feel like I am missing out on a lot!
