Heading to AA tomorrow and wondering if there is anything new and exciting out there by any new (or established) Michigan Breweries in the way of IPA's. A search of the forums shows an old thread mentioning Two Hearted, Huma, Crooked Tree and Centennial among others (most of which I have always thought were on the malty side).
I won't use the words "Turbid", "Hazy" or "New England Style" (although I guess I just did), but any suggestions on any fresh IPA's to be on the lookout for that might be available in the AA area either on tap or in bottles/cans during my short stay is much appreciated.

Hopcat has Alpine Duet and Stone EB unfiltered on tap.
If you can find a place with Kuhnhenn Dripa on tap I highly recommend.
Sorry I can't help with any NE style IPA's

Enjoy By Unfiltered is a good substitute, though, so good call. I'm pretty bitter it didn't make it to Chicago this time around.

Fresh Dark Horse Crooked Tree and Double Crooked Tree are definitely hazy (although short of "turbid") and delicious.

Whatever fresh APAs/IPAs you can find from Odd Side and Shorts are good bets. Plus you can probably find limited Bells/Founders stuff (Hopsoulution, Sleeper Cell, etc) much more easily in Michigan than elsewhere.

Plum market and whole foods have good bottle selections, Ashleys is the OG beer bar in town.

Finally Wolverine brewing is lager-only, but their hoppy lagers (Gulo Gulo, etc) are tasty.

Black Rocks Presque Ale (pale ale) is tasty albeit not hazy. Definite fruitiness with balanced bitterness.

It's starting to get a little long in the tooth but just cracked my last Black Rocks Murray Project and was still delicious. Super juicy.

Seconded checking out Ashley's. Tons of taps, always something interesting to try. Got started on micros there many years ago.

This made me remember I have one in the fridge...

Opened one of my last ones a couple days ago. Still really good. Adding well. I think most of it was canned around 6/29 if I remember the sticker on the packs. Our store got another shipment.

Not necessarily down the road but Witches Hat has a new IPA called "This Guy". NE Style, turbid etc. Prob the best iteration of one I've seen come out in MI so far. Well worth it. It's about a 30 min drive.

They also just canned (8/24) a fresh batch of Rez Gets Smashed DIPA. Pretty good as well. 4 packs should still be left.

Appreciate the info. This is exactly what I was looking for, a small newish MI brewery brewing something different. I guess the only place to find Witches Hat brews are at the Brewery itself?
Been to AA a number of times and just looking to try something different other than my usual stops at Ashley's, Blue Tractor, Arbor Brewing or Wolverine.

Of all the input I've seen, this is the only one I would take action on if I were OP. I haven't had the new IPA by WH, but none of the others mentioned are NE style at all. I did have Rez Gets Smashed, though, and thought it was pretty good...even if not NE style.

I liked Murray Project when it was fresher, but I'd agree it's long in the tooth now and wouldn't really recommend it at this point.

Go to Witch's Hat - may even be some of the Fury variants on and off this week on tap.

Ascension brewing in Novi just tapped a couple of hazy IPA today as well, they are not far from Witch's Hat - albeit not any closer to AA.

This guy at Witch's Hat is legit as hell - bring some NE stuff with you and try and set up a quick IP trade for some Transient cans while you're at WH.

Transient The Juice is Loose. Won't find it on the shelves it was a recent brewery only release which is gone. Someone around AA might trade (or give) you a few.

I feel like Transient should be treated like Fight Club, and there are rules.

I didn't see Black Rocks IPA mentioned above and it is found in cans but I don't know about keg distro, and an under-the-radar beer is Monkey Mouth IPA in cans from a small brewery in Jackson, Grand River Brewery. But again, I don't know whether kegs get out from the brewery to find it on tap anywhere.

I'm a big fan of Oddside I want my HTV, their imperial citra ale. You should be able to find it in the stores.

You can get a $12 growler fill of Founders Red's Rye at Hopcat.

Short's Imperial Spruce Pilsner isn't an IPA but it drinks like one. It was released about a month ago but it's still out there to be found.

The best citra hopped beer in MI by leaps and bounds. If you love citra hops, get some of this.

I will also note, there are multiple beers listed in this thread that I found total shit, and nothing like the OP was after. That's just the nature of palettes and preferences, we're all different, so grab singles if you can.
