Anyone remember from last year if MD was still flowing on tap for a while after the taproom opened up to the public? I struck out trying to get tickets yesterday but may still go to the release for the 4pm public opening, if I can get a pour or 2 of MD...

Additionally, I went last year, and getting bottles of Sosus to go was an awesome bonus. Any speculation on whether they're likely to have Sosus again, or maybe King Sue bottles to go?

Finally, can anyone tell me what the changeover was like last year, after the afternoon session ended and they opened up to the public? Do they clear everyone from the pm session out, or do they just let people trickle in as others exit? Will I need to line up far in advance if I want to grab a table with a couple friends at 4?

I saw that TG tweeted that they're planning to package Sosus this week. So I'm not sure if it'll last till the MD release.

Can someone who was there last year clarify....did TG do a share last year or is this a new thing?

those offerings were at TG, they had a bunch of J Wakefield beers available when they opened. Special taps from far flung markets for sure!

I was also wondering how it will work when they open u0 to the public at 4. Will there be a large line and difficult to get back in after its cleared out?

I am headed down from MSP Friday night and have the AM session. Definitely down to get together Friday night for a share somewhere and plan to hit up C&C after the AM session.

Thank you for the spread sheet! I understand the TG Share is after 4pm, could be a wee bit crowded and not have a place to squeeze in at table. Any more clarity on the C&C times? I'm assuming it's pretty much an all day event? Thanks!

When did they sell Sosus last year? During the sessions or afterwards?

I got mine during the session. I assume it was for sale after as well (if it lasted that long).

I have AM session as well and have been to many beer events, including last year's MD release. You'll meet plenty of new friends there! :grinning:

Denver Rare Beer Tasting ends at 4:00 PM Friday... I have a very small window after that to get to Iowa.

Eh, was MD even on tap after the event last year? I don't remember that being the case. Maybe I was too busy drinking Sosus though.

They didn't clear people out from the PM session.

An outside observation from someone who didn't try for tickets: I think this event, and the whole weekend should be really neat due to the relatively small amount of tickets combined with the variety of national and international beer folks coming in from all over the place. Looking at the spreadsheet and seeing locations of people and the bottles they will be toting along is really cool. Not the usual upper midwest crowd I see at the taproom(which isn't a bad thing). You'll be in the most scenic parts of Iowa at one of the best times of the year, toss in some good weather, a Hawkeye win(beer just tastes better after one of those), some Mabe's, and this should be an epic weekend. Sad I cant make it but cheers to those who can!

I'm pretty sure MD was on tap after the event last year. I remember it being pretty pricey.

Yes it was - $15 or $20 but you got to keep the glass. I think I went home with like 8 MD glasses.
