Anyone know what happened with Hill Farmstead? It's always been such a chill experience up there.

Maybe Cantillon has decided they want to help out breweries this year instead of beer bars? As far as I know, Trillium only has a license to sell their own beers (?). If so, they will need a license to sell Cantillon for Zwanze Day. Will they have any other beers for sale that day? Other Cantillon beers?

No lines back in 2009 ... I wouldn't wait in line for 6 hours for anything let alone a beer. There are a few people I have relationships with where I have access to stuff and they have access to sold-out EBF fests. Media generally has access regardless, media access does not = cutting in line ;-)

Bob said the later date this year makes for risky bizness weather-wise, so bowed out. I can attest to such conditions in the NEK first-hand.

I guess I can understand that. Still sucks, but maybe I'll try Trillium.

I wonder if that points to it being a ticketed event, sort of like a ba fest.

Zwanze day didn't start world wide until 2011. So yeah, there wouldn't be a line for something that didn't exist

In all fairness the specificity of Zwanze wasn't prevalent; 2009 lines in general were more about product than FOMO/Trade Value/I'm cool

Seymour will be doing tickets as well, for those taking the Greenfield route:

Hey all- just wanted to put a preliminary post out about the Zwanze Day celebration, since we've been getting a lot of messages about it! So glad to see so much interest and we are so very very honored to have been asked to be a host this year. This means so much to us!

The event will DEFINITELY be ticketed. Given our size and capacity, we will likely do two, if not three sessions. Once we have our beer list confirmed and have chosen the food and have the glassware made we wi...ll be able to announce the pricing and offer a link for ticket purchases. The goal is to have that announced and released by the end of this month, so stay tuned for that info!

Cheers and thanks for all the support!

Saturday, October 1, 2016, marks the highly anticipated release of this year’s Cantillon Zwanze. Arguably the most anticipated release in the World of beer, Zwanze is ONLY available on tap at select locations worldwide. We at Armsby Abbey are elated to again be hand-picked by Cantillon’s Jean van Roy as one of only 27 locations in the USA (58 locations worldwide) to pour Zwanze 2016.

This year’s Zwanze is going to be a throwback to the Framboise they were producing 30 years ago. As the name implies, it was a lambic aged on raspberries. Back in the ’80s they used fresh fruit that lost its color quickly and often made filtration difficult, so cherries were also used to help maintain some rosiness and act as a secondary filter bed beneath the raspberries. Vanilla was also added to round it out. With modern flash-freezing techniques helping to maintain color and consistency, Cantillon began producing Rosé de Gambrinus with 100% raspberries. With Zwanze 2016, Jean wanted to give a nod to the raspberry/cherry blend, but with a twist: He decided to use blueberries instead of cherries.

    DETAILS ON TICKETS COMING SOON!

Zwanze 2016 will be a ticketed event at Armsby Abbey to alleviate the issues we had in 2015. Details on how you will be able to purchase your ticket, as they will be limited, coming soon.

    Cheers!

Got tickets today for Seymour in Greenfield. Sold out for both sessions within minutes. They claimed to set small quantities on tickets to prevent overcrowding etc for both sessions. Hoping all goes smooth.

What are the public transportation / Uber/Lyft/etc. options/costs for getting from Boston (Back Bay area) to Canton and back?
