Ok, I went ahead and did it. The idea, cribbed from many of the East Coast threads, is to give Monkish its own monthly thread. Let's see how it goes . . .

EDIT: Something I found out the hard way with another thread is that if, for whatever reason, you block me as the starter of the thread, you'll end up blocking the entire thread. I'll try not to say anything that would make you want to do that. :grinning:

I broke my Monkish glass the other day :slight_frown: no not the Teku one and I wasn't even in a parking lot bottle share.

I wonder if they're gonna remake previous batches. Can't really tell that much difference between some of the batches at times. Don't get me wrong, they're good and all.

And that way they can have a few beer recipes that are consistent.

I believe a new IPA should be on today for fills from what they told me last week.

    Cheers,

From IG: "We've got some shiny new labels made for our special can release on Saturday! One TRIPLE IPA #collabeeration with @otherhalfnyc and a DOUBLE IPA! We're also packaging an IPA (in kegs) for the holiday weekend growler fills!"

Damn, thought things could be a little calmer there with the holiday weekend (and a release last week). I'm sure there's a chair outside already for the Other Half collab.

The holiday weekend alone would ratchet this sucker up to 11 in crazy alone.

No, my friend... what we're facing here is something else....

It's been a while since they've done a back to back can release.

Also I think this is their first Triple. I'm gonna guess $20/4pk.

How early should I line up my chair?

Not all breweries deserve a monthly thread since, you know, the news and releases they crank out often come months apart.

if people are willing to wait in line they should really make them stand in place, no chairs no sleeping in cars none of that crap.

Do people consider chairs as a mean as standing in line? If I were there before the chairs I would just move them.

Reminds me of when my wife and I went to Cabo several months back and people would walk down to the main resort pool at like 6am in order put a magazine, sandal, hotel towel, etc. on a chair to reserve it. We got down at like 8:30 to actually lay and the area was desolate yet not a free chair available. Sure, I tossed some person's random magazine or towel and we got into it with them but we ended up getting a better spot because hotel security didn't want to deal with it. I say people do the same thing to these chairs.

Damn, was planning on heading there around 3-4 just to put a few back and maybe get a fill. Typically not to crazy around then on a release day, right?

Shouldn't be a problem. The crowd for the cans are long gone by that time.

Good for you! I go to Cabo almost every year and this drives me crazy. We usually go to beach where that is not a problem. But people can be so rude and selfish.

So when people get to the line and there are empty chairs there, do they get in line behind empty chairs? Why not just walk past the empty chairs and line-up behind an actual person? I do understand this could cause some confrontation that some people would rather not deal with.

I picture in my mind, 100 chairs in line, no people and a real person lining up behind chairs. I know this is exaggerated, but seems silly.
