Wasn't going to have a beer tonight but the blah 12-10 lead for IU against FIU tonight has me switching from water to something stronger. Come on guys. Cheers

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Thursday. Almost to the holiday weekend already. Started off with a homebrew English porter again, and now reviews for the day:

This was quite nice. Huge fruity aromas, solid amount in the flavors. Watermelon, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, pear, pineapple, and lemon fruitiness; with moderate toasted biscuit and light caramel malts; with some herbal/floral hops. Mild balancing herbal hop bitterness and slight fruit tartness on the finish. Medium bodied with grainy malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Lightly dry. Refreshing with some nice balanced flavors between fruitiness and malt. Was quite robust for the 4.9% ABV as well. 3.7

Really nice fruit IPA. Fantastic head retention and lasting lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big blood orange, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, and pine; with some lightly toasted bready malt; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/grassy/citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; crisp, sticky/resinous, and fairly creamy/grainy in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resinous dryness, with no hop astringency. Really enjoyed this. Well balanced between C-hop and blood orange juice flavors; with a lighter balancing malt backbone. Quite refreshing. Will probably grab another single or two. 3.81

Very nice Irish red. Aromas and flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, raisin, plum, cherry, apple, berry, toasted biscuit, and light chocolate/nuttiness; with some solid whiskey, vanilla, coconut, and oak notes in the finish. Light herbal hop bitterness and bourbon/oak spice balances the sweetness perfectly after the finish. Medium-full bodied; nice creamy/silky mouthfeel; with slight chalky roast character. Overall really delicious and unique. Hit my expectations for an Imperial Irish Red ale. Big malt complexity with some solid English yeast fruitiness. Irish Whiskey barrel presence wasn't too huge, but still very noticeable and lended nice background barrel complexity. Really enjoyed this. 3.9

The biggest thing pushing me towards Vermont over Massachusetts is the new brewers and the excellent beer they are putting out, I really want to try more Frost and Foley Brothers. And Mastermind, I could drink that for weeks and not tire of it, pure Citra deliciousness.

    Hit up Bosque after work.

Started with their In Memory of Cyp Lager.

Followed that up with a Scale Tipper IPA. People love this one around here but I am not on the bandwagon. Good for what it is but it just does not click with me.

Closed out with a El Dorado SMASH Pale Ale. Good stuff but far from my favorite of their series of SMASH releases. Their Citra SMASH remains king, IMO.

It will be one and done for me tonight, since I have to get up at 2:30 am to cut some navy beans. Drinking a Schells Chimney Sweep brewed with cocoa nibs.
