I've had the chance to try 120 as well as chocolate rain and thought both were terrible, more for you guys

Exactly. They will probably fly off the shelves during the first couple of waves, and then will be eternal turds like in any other state (120, specifically, that is)

Surprised you didn't like Chocolate Rain since you seem to be a big stout guy. I think that's the best of all of the Bruery stouts, though I can't say I love the others. For whatever reason, CR drinks way easier than the others. 4 ounces is perfect, though.

@tcorder219 If this is an oversight on my part, please forgive me. But will babies be allowed at the Creeper party? I'm talking 3 month old that will be passed out in a sling. Just wanted to confirm so that we can plan appropriately. Thanks in advance!

Anyone see anything new on the shelves yet with the >12%abv?

I saw a 16% imperial lager at Mustard Seed. And Rozis posted a picture of the Hoppin Frog TORIS bottles.

I probably wasn't buying one anyway, but Circle A said they sold two cases of Toris in less than two hours.

I know, but I found it interesting. They also had Rhinegeist Sabertooth and Streaker, so I picked up one of each.

I really enjoyed Sabertooth. Grabbed one last week as well.

So everyone knows that being over 12% doesn't mean the beer is good right? And infants at beer releases? I swear the beer scene is more entertaining than politics sometimes! Remember the kids riding their bikes at hoof releases while their dad got wasted? Smh.

Molotov Heavy is also out. I passed on all the big ABV's... While happy we are keeping up with the jones and understand the importance on our (beer) economy. This law doesn't really effect me personally. Have had 120, world wide stout, Dark Lord, BCBS and a few others. All too sweet and thick for me personally. Would rather just drink beer made with grapes at that point ;-)

Unrelated, drinking a 'Yammy Yammy' from Platform now. I really dig this. It's a tad sweet. But would be ridiculous paired with a fall meal (or a thanksgiving dinner) Platform is really moving their way up my all-time fav local breweries slowly but surly. Not crowing them or anything. But I like what they are doing!

I personally have nothing against parents bringing babies/kids with them to releases. Assuming they are being responsible.
But is it me or does it sound funny "can I bring my kid/baby to the CREEPER party"

Alright Ray, I'll bite. First, I publicly spoke out on BA about the shit at Hoof. I've seen the parents take their kids out there and turn them loose while they get trashed and then have to drive them home. I'm completely against it and would never condone that shit. I love beer, but would drop it in a heartbeat for my son.

Since it's obvious that my question to Tony was what made you decide to pipe in and offer your two cents, allow me to elaborate on my situation. Not that I need to explain anything to you or anyone else on here, but fuck it.

My wife and I have not left our son with anyone other than us since the day he was born. The day of the Creeper event, we are also going to the Brew Dog equity for punks party. This will be our first time going anywhere without him and wanted to delay that for at least part of the day at an event where we wanted to just split a couple of pours and grab our bottles before moving on. Nothing crazy. If he's not welcome at the event, we understand and will not make it an issue.

Going forward, I'd ask you either call me out directly when making snide comments or maybe not assume and keep them to yourself. Not everything is always what it seems. That said, sorry I'm a part of the new wave that's making the old dogs yearn for "the good old days".

I'm an "old dog" but I was raised on the bar room floor... I turned out somewhat ok. At least I haven't killed anyone yet.

I didn't want to say anything due to thread derailing, but that was bush league. There is nothing wrong with taking your infant anywhere you go, because they are babies, and you know...life still happens. I had 3 of them seemingly not that long ago, and they went to a lot of different places. Including, gasp...bars :grimacing::grimacing: I always ask people what the difference is between a brewery and any other place that serves alcohol. I have been to as many drunken, out of control Mexican restauraunts as breweries. I will be at the Creeper release too. I will bring one of my dogs and you can let your little one ride them. OK. Rant over. Back to New Ohio beer stuff. Can't wait for World Wide Stout. Because it's fucking awesome, not because it's over 12%

Appreciate the echoed sentiment. I didn't think the comment was called for and it wasn't even slightly hidden who it was in response to. I let it get to me and responded in kind. I know what kind of parent I am. And I know what kind of beer geek I am. The two can coexist just fine, but are absolutely two separate things where one is hands down more important than the other. The day that beer becomes bigger than my child, it's time for me to get out of the game.

We will be at the morning session. Hopefully with our little guy in tow. If you're at the same one and happen to recognize me (younger guy in the pic), come up and say hi. Always cool to meet fellow Ohio BA folks.

Every time I go there, I find 2-3 beers that I like. In the past, my favorites have been the Islander, the Polymer, Dunkelweizen, and the Chocolate Stout. I would agree that their IPAs and wheats are nothing special. But have you had the Islander? Maybe you aren't into flavored stuff. But I hosted a tasting of coconut flavored beers, and the Islander was a unanimous favorite. I know everyone has different tastes, but I am surprised that nothing stood out to you. If you didn't try the ones that I listed, I would recommend you give them a try.
