Haha not my baby, but mine has more breweries under his belt than most adults do.

Sorry @Mikeushbeotch. But I disagree with babies & brewery's (#babies&brewerys). I feel that its not the right place to bring babies/infants or young kids. Not picking an argument with you or anybody else here. Just how I feel. Maybe I'm old school (which I am an old fart). But just how I was raised. I know of 2 families that had incidents driving home from a brewery visit. One where they had gotten into an accident and the other for DUI. Both with babies or kids with them. I just hope those who do take their kids with them are responsible parents. Or at least one of them. Plus what is a baby/kid going to do inside while everybody is drinking, having a great time and its talking loud? Just my opinion.

The child is either going to 1) continue to be glued to their electronic device or 2) run amok in an adult establishment. Those are usually the only available options.

And proud dad moment, "my toddler has been to more breweries than most adults."

Personally, I don't see why that's something the "children should be welcomed in breweries / bars" proponents are so quick to point out.

No problem, I'm comfortable with my parenting and respect your opinions. I'm sure we are both glad that we don't lead each other's respective lives. Cheers to you all, and this hopefully delicious and worth it beer.

The bigger concern with it I have is that it's essentially saying "I drive with my child while alcohol is in my system and it's awesome!". Even if you're not tying one off, unless you're taking them on public transit or ubering it to a location, the driving while/with the main purpose to put alcohol in one's system seems to be a bigger concern glossed over.

OK, this is just going beyond the pale now.

Heading to a brewery at 1 a.m. (and now apparently 9 p.m. before they even close) to wait for a can release was ridiculous. But bringing your toddler along and boasting about it on social media just cranks it up to a whole new ridiculous level.

    Fucking stupidity.

Not sure how you could do it, but Monkish might want to make some sort of rules about when lines can start... since so many of the people in line have proven themselves to be beyond reasonable thoughts or actions on their own. This is how you ruin beer.

(Also, as others have echoed, I don't think these chairs count as anything but a chair. Any other product/event that people line up for would have people rioting about empty chairs saving spots.)

Best believe if I was going in line and there was empty chairs im going ahead. Trying doing stuff like that to save a bonfire pit on a holiday and people have said they will move your shit. Whats to stop people from leaving chairs at 11pm and showing up an hour before release?

That baby is more mature than many people I've seen lined up for Monkish in the past.

Just had Amazon ship a camping chair directly to Monkish, can someone there have them set it up for me as front of the line for next release. Thanks.

That's the thing. One day some dude is going to polish off a BT vertical and decide "f this chair holding bs" and move the empty chairs. Chair owners, probably fresh off posting pics on the gram of them drinking cans of trillium they bought on MBC, will come by and get pissed about their chairs being moved and losing their spots. They confront said dude and shit will get real.

It's gonna happen guys, especially now that are bringing up the empty chair issue.

Two of these guys showed up after they passed there chairs with the wrist bands and the Monkish staff turned around gave them each a wrist band. Last week I watched a guy go up to an employee and tell them they missed getting one when they were passed out and that employee gave him the last wrist band. Both situations are bullshit.

Monkish is as much at fault as anyone. They don't enforce any of the rules they set, and give wrist bands to people not in line...smh. I'm no big city lawyer, so I'm assuming they're doing the bare minimum legally to not be held accountable for people drinking in line.

I like how HPB went to the line and sold bottles in line. Basically for every pack you'd get a ticket, so you're free to get out of line and chill. Your cans are reserved.

Still it's 2016...eventBrite or bpt you dummies

im hearing that if you werent in line by 5 AM, you didnt get cans at all.

and yeah, monkish is equally at fault here for this nonsense. i feel like they are loving the hype...

If that's the case, it's up to them to put a stop to this. Your releases shouldn't demand stupidity.

    "Two allotments please."
    "Two? It's just one per."
"Yeah, well see, my chair here has been in line since 9pm last night and it's only fair to him. These South Bay evenings are incredibly chilly and he was kind enough to save me a spot through the night. He'd be awfully upset if he went away empty handled. By the way he has a FB account that he uses when he doesn't get his way."

Yeah that picture is all sorts of messed up. Can someone local please rectify the situation the next time this occurs? No need for this type of precedent to be set. Thanks in advance.
