    Good morning all!
Looks like a lazy Sunday for me. Going up to visit my mother. I've been a bad son and haven't seen her for three weeks.
Enjoying Citracado and getting ready to make a breakfast burrito.

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday!

My go-to English styled Porter. Big robust and complex flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, light coffee, caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, and light nuttiness; with restrained plum/apple English yeast fruitiness and light-moderate herbal hops. Balanced herbal/roast bitter finish with a great creamy/silky mouthfeel. An all around incredible beer every single time. I love pretty much the entire Deschutes lineup of year round and seasonals.

Fantastic red ale as always. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nutty malts; with herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy bitterness; balance hop stickiness and bready creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing dryness, minimal astringency. Insanely drinkable. Not quite resinous on hops but close. I love the combined hop and malt complexity of this one, very juicy feeling. Will be getting again soon.

Really nice tripel. Flavors of apricot, orange, pear, apple, golden raisin, mango, pepper, clove, and light banana; with moderate candi sugar/biscuity malts and herbal/floral hops. Spicy yeast finish against sweetness; drying finish. Very smooth sipper for the ABV, and not too heavy on mouthfeel for the style either. Really enjoyable and underrated to me. Tripels are my favorite style.

4 years old now. Mind blowing! Enormous flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, vanilla, molasses, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, raisin, fig, cherry, date, leather, tobacco, licorice, and light coconut. Good amount of bourbon/oak spiciness balances the residual sweetness absolutely perfectly. Insane balance between the malt, dark fruits, and bourbon barrel flavors. Enourmous silky and slick feel. Very smooth sipper for 15%, very minimal warming. Definitely need to get some more this year. Didn’t get any other than the Regal Rye last year; but hopefully they will clean up the QC this time around and I will get some more of the regular again. Still have a couple of 2012 and 2013 bottles left.

doublin' up on the coffee this A.M.

started with grinding some Philz Tesora. decent enough but not really my cup of tea. the French vanilla cream helped shave some of the sharpness.

Good morning gang! A bit of autumn chill in the air on the Galien River. This vintage 2011 is the perfect companion for a tranquil float. It's held up very well. No tunes this morning, just listening to nature. Enjoy your Sunday!

I apologize for buying so much real estate on page 1, but I try to stop drinking before Noon on Sunday, and I'm delightfully still working my way through many new beers. I bought a strange mixed sixer of canned German beers yesterday. This is the second one, pretty average but easy to drink. Prost!

Good morning, all, and Happy Stein Club Sunday! My entry for today is this German-made Gerz ceramic lidded stein featuring a raised tavern scene. I picked this up at the Waterloo St. Vincent de Paul thrift shop (where else?) for the princely sum of five dollars.

Calm enough to enjoy a light snack on the Great Lake Michigan this morning. This beer needs to find it's way into cans. A perfect autumn session beer!

I'm always reminded of this ship and the tragic sinking when I'm out here. The Great Lakes are no punk.

Yowsa. I got thirty minutes on the timer. Cheers

Because my son has to open the milk and take two sips just before he leaves. Macaroni and cheese. Ya freeze it. Sage is a great herb to work with. it is bright light green in scent and flavor although it has a woody appearance to the leaf. It holds up well over time and on the counter top. Today i am going to pair it with a macaroni and cheese that features sage and cumin. I like cumin and I like sage. I also added a pinch of nutmeg and you will notice that my sauce is not too thick and has the look of "a chocolate" or spiced milk. It's just shy of cinnamon the color. Brown but not red on the spice. No chili powder unless we put it on top later. Nutmeg has a twiggy freshness which is only a pinch. it's just a pinch. I am going to fry sage leaves for the top and this one begs for croutons or breadcrumbs but I was lazy. Olive oil not peanut for this one. Gonna pair it with Bittburger. I mean the next bittburger I have.
