Monkish Brewing (September 2016)

apparantly ive been told by multiple people that if you didnt get there by 6 am LATEST you didnt get full allocation, so needless to say this is confusing.

 

It was cut from 1.5/2 to 1/1 at some point.

 

As mentioned above ^^^ post (pg 3)...arrived at 10 (for growler fills only). Saw that they opened the can line up at 930. Decided to take a chance in line. Got one 4pk of Balloons. Just missed out on the TIPA 4pk by 4-6 guys in front of me. No more cans at 1030. So it took one hour to sell out of cans. Filled growlers with EoE. Was outta there by 1045ish (Sat). Went back Sunday at opening for a sit down and enjoyed 2 glasses of IPA's on tap. Filled another 2 growlers. Left outta there at 2. Was in the area for lunch at Mitskwa's. So why not stop in again?

 

Mitsuwa

Eboshi is my favorite place in Torrance for ramen/udon. There are a couple of good stands in Mitsuwa. Ramen Yamadaya is also pretty solid but tiny

Henry set the cutoff from 1.5&2 to 1&1 4packs at spot number ~200 in line on Saturday, and #200 had to be somewhere between a 4 & 5am arrival. Those that arrived at 5am & just before 10am still received the same amount of cans (4pack of each). The triple kicked first for cans & then the double, but there were definitely some that managed to loop around again & snag a second allotment on the double.

 

Don't know what time I walked out. Like most dudes, they get their beers and bounce right away. I usually hang out , talk to people, socialize, talk to Henry, order beers on tap. Beer is supposed to be a social event, not just stand in line .

Yeah that one's pretty good but can have a hell of a wait.

Maybe we can do for this thread what burritos have done for others

 

i used to go to the Santokua at Mitsuwa in Santa Monica religiously, then I discovered better ramens. Santokua still has a special place in my heart though. spicy miso ramen.

the Mitsuwa in Torrence is awesome. better than than the SM

i bet SDreaper doesn't get a soft boiled egg with his ramen

 

It's Santouka, though.

 

Tsujita is better anyway. And equally hard to remember how to spell

 

If you haven't been to Musha, then I don't know why you bother to go to Torrance. Also, 85 degrees down in that shopping block has enough pastries to fill those 8 hour line waiting needs.
