In my case, I wouldn't say I have had a "hard" time getting it via distro in Iowa can't say for MN. But I also have weekdays off often and when it does arrive in the area it is gone pretty quick. That being said I am planning on attending Darkness Day for the first time myself this year.

Regular Darkness is definitely doable, but most places in the Twin Cities will probably sell out within ~24 hours of whenever they put it on the shelf.

BA Darkness was much more difficult... I definitely went to a couple places that sold out within 30 minutes, etc.

What's the price tag on both? I've only had it on tap.

Also about how long after DD do they hit distro?

Darkness should be around $20, and BA Darkness in the upper twenties. Darkness has always been released the Monday after Darkness Day. Last year was the first release of BA Darkness, and it was a few weeks after Darkness Day that it hit shelves.

Todd posted on Twitter that BA Darkness is expected to have a different release date than Darkness.

For those wondering, I was too. I asked T. Haug on Twitter about BA Darkness this year and his reply was....

"It's in process for a different release date than Darkness. RT @theshwig: @surlybrewer Will there be BA #Darkness this year?"

What about food. Anyone willing to trade beer for food? I haven't decided what I'm going to bring yet, but I usually throw down for some pretty nice stuff and am willing to share.

Usually there are people grilling or people bring crockpots and stuff. Not usually a "trade" situation just a "here, have some food" sort of thing but YMMV.

Fair enough. I was likely going to share anyway. I wasn't sure until recently if I was going to go, but now that I am, I am scrambling for beer worthy of the event.

Luckily, anyone who walks up and eats your food will likely have some beer in their hand of which, they'll offer you a pour if they aren't an asshole. So I guess that's sort of a trade, but in less exact terms. Share stuff with people and be friendly and they'll do the same. Don't overthink it, by 7pm (or 5:30, in my case) people will be drunk and everyone will be hungry.

Might have been missed previously, but need to finalize plans before Vacation. Feel like a dork asking these questions. What size is your average canopy that people bring? A lot of them I'm looking at are 10x10, however from when I was there last year (didn't get there til quite late, and got quite drunk...) I don't remember them being that large. The one in the picture on the last page doesn't look that large to me either.

Don't was to hog too much space!

Coming up solo, so I'll probably be a line crasher early in the AM.

10x10 is just fine. my canopy is either 8x10 or 10x12 (it's not a square but I forget exactly what the dimensions are.)

oh yes, I was sleeping in my car last year when someone's canopy crashed into the hood and left a nice dent :slight_frown: scared the crap out of me too!

That's unfortunate. Should definitely have had something weighing it down! Did they at least offer you beer?

Keep in mind @JordanRC we don't use the metric system down here. That is 10x10 feet. If you bring a 10x10m canopy, you'll have some trouble.
You know what I"m talking aboot?

Damn... Wonder if they'll give me a refund for the trailer I bought to haul this monster canopy... :stuck_out_tongue:
