I've blended my Averagely Perfect NE IPA, in the glass, with Golden Naked Summer, my British Golden Ale with Golden Promise and Golden Naked Oats. The resulting beer = NE Pale Ale? Don't know about that, but does = delicious.

Took my blonde recipe and subed in golden promise for Pilsner and added 1/2 oz of dry hops. Still super drinkable but has a little more to it. Is there a better base malt than GP?

Nothing complicated, i am a newbie brewer and even more newbie all-grain. On tap I have a SMaSH IPA with Maris Otter malt, Galaxy hops, and Vermont Ale Yeast (6% ABV).
Smells of pineapple and mango. Tastes of mild stone fruit and finishes dry. As you can see it is quite hazy. Very drinkable and light to medium bodied. I am enjoying this one quite a bit!

Apologies for the large photo. I know I will never get a photographer job any time soon!

Classic American Pilsner. Winning the seal of approval for September family get-togethers, plus I still enjoy it as well.

Love the Raspberry Pints setup with pool balls. I replaced my tap numbers with (numbered) glassware images appropriate to the style. But rather than hack the database and risk crashing RP, I hacked the .html and when I tap a new style, I swap out the image file for that tap number.

My new Amber Saison (100% Brett, 3 strain house blend). Crisp and dry, yet malty. Mild spicy hop notes and pepper in the finish with a rye bite.
Paired it with ham, sauteed squash, and a hefe beer cheese au grautin purple cauliflower.

American Pale Ale. 5.6% ABV. Finally got a brew under 6% as my efficiency has increased with the last three brew days. Loving this weather and this [IMG] deliciousness.

    Nice looking Northeast style.

I'm confused by this statement. All other things being equal, higher mash/brewhouse efficiency will result in a higher ABV, not lower. Or do you mean some other sort of efficiency?

Sort of speaking backwards like Yoda... All my previous attempts at a pale between 4.5%-6% have come out closer to 6.8%-7% based on my increased efficiency because I added more malt to account for mid 60s% efficiency but the actual brew day ended up in the lower 70s% efficiency... finally adjusted my malt bill for this increased efficiency and got in the mid 5%ABV.

I was confused, as well. But I think he means the increase in efficiency on his previous three brews led to >6%. But he finally accounted for the efficiency increase on this fourth attempt.

Also, the "NE" style is a go-to for my pales and IPAs... but as an Iowa boy, Toppling Goliath mastered this style before I had heard of Heady, Julius, Headroom and the like, Midwest style

On top a biscuit and wheat malt IPA dry hopped like mad with Citra and Amarillo. Bottom a French style farmhouse ale with Jarrylo dry hopping.
