Too early? Been up since 3AM with newborn; now watching Narcos with a proper breakfast beer. Usually go coffee before beer, but thought coffee that early would preclude late morning caffeine boost. Good morning and good day.

Along the same lines my 3 year old daughter woke up 2 hours early. No doubt my 10 day old daughter's dragon-like cries were to blame. Cheers to early mornings and well deserved naps.

I'm taking a break from sober Saturday mornings to watch the Manchester Derby -- Manchester United v Manchester City. Breaking in my new Erdinger glass since I can't find my other one. Cheers.

My third final child's middle name is Drago (after my great gradfather) and he too has a dragon cry (how apropos). Cheers.

Dusky/dawny here still in Chicago but I am up for the Man Utd vs City game with a W00tstout in hand.
I had an alarm set on my phone but as it was the cats woke me to feed them, and probs because they wanted to see the game too!

    Happy Saturday All

Good morning, I bought when I was on an extended weekend in early September a local brew in Saint Dizier, France. Not too far from Verdun (which rings a bell to everyone, the WW1 battle in 1916).. Bière du fort carré. Cheers!

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! It is supposed to rain today, so it looks like I probably won't be able to get any mountain biking in. Probably will tidy up around my apartment instead.

    Beers this morning:

Amazing pale ale. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, papaya, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with biscuit/light caramel malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness; medium bodied; sticky/resinous mouthfeel with some light bready creaminess. Moderate increasing dryness. Just as awesome as their IPA, been buying this pretty much just as often.

Amazing IPA as usual. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, peach, citrus rind, and pine; with some light honey/bready malt balance. Very smooth finish with moderate hop stickiness and slight malt creaminess in the mouthfeel; with a great increasingly dry resinous finish. I just hope we get more 6 packs on a rotational basis now. We got the Alpine bombers earlier in the year, and then they never came back; then these 6 packs showed up.

Incredible old ale as always, Jan 2015 batch. Flavors of huge caramel, brown sugar, raisin, plum, fig, cherry, toasted oak, toffee, and molasses; with light nutty biscuit, chocolate, and oaken vanilla. Light balancing earthy bitterness and oak spice on the finish. Creamy/silky medium-full body mouthfeel. Tons of well rounded complexity across the board. Very smooth sipping for the ABV; mild warming finish. This has always been a beer I really need to remind myself to buy more often than I have been. I usually buy a 4 pack every year to sit around and age. I probably love it the most around 2 years of age, but it is delicious regardless.

This years batch is tasting incredible! Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and light licorice/dark fruits. Bittersweet balanced full bodied finish; creamy/silky/slick with light chalky roast notes. Lightly warming finish, with zero boozy barrel notes. Great malt/barrel balance. Glad I bought multiple 4 packs this year. Looking forward to trying out the Sunday Mole stout soon, getting released next week. I always love pepper stouts.

Just got finished binge watching Narcos, it's late night/early morning here. Enjoyed a juicy/hazy IPA from Beer Lab HI. Goes by the name I.PILS.P.A. Probably one of my favorite local IPAs I've had since moving here a couple years ago. Love what this brewery is pumping out.

Here's some shots from the hike I took the squad on earlier this week. Brutal, but beautiful. Lucky I live Hawai'i!

Another local brewery is coming out with a double dry hopped sour with local yuzu fruit tomorrow. Definitely stopping by there!

    Okole maluna y'all!

Good morning BAs. Just a gentle reminder - 1420 is still running so this thread may be merged. That out of the way, today's Texas Breakfast Beer is:

    Morning all!

The benefit of having a 2 year old is that they always make sure you're up early on a Saturday - especially when they want to watch soccer. So in spite of a late night I am up and enjoying the Manchester derby - what a game so far!

    Time for breakfast:

Happy Saturday BA! I'm at work early (boo). But...shhhhhh.

I plan to actually revamp the mug with FBS art later with less tacky methods :stuck_out_tongue:

We will just call this the FBS to-go sippy cup.

This is on my 'beer bucket list', how does it compare to its Anchor and Sierra Nevada counterparts? Cheers.
