Let me say this first, I don't care for pumpkin beers anymore. That being said I did find this enjoyable so I would figure people that love pumpkin beers would love this. Also, I am a fan of most nitros too.

First I want to raise a glass in memory to all those lost during the World Trade Center Bombing 15 years ago, to their families and friends, and to all the brave people who came to the aid of others - all giving some, some giving all - they will never be forgotten...

I remember hearing about it at work in the morning, and thinking for sure it was some sort of prank - I raced home at lunch to see what was happening on TV, and could not believe my eyes. It was to me what the Kennedy assassination was to my parents. I was stunned and horrified. It was the kind of thing you just didn't think could actually happen.

I offer a sincere moment of silent reflection...

Had to break this out to celebrate being done with work and hour late this morning - 7p to 7a shift turning into 7p to 8:30a means beer.

A - nice dark brown color that's translucent at the edges, head is initially a creamy tan that sticks for a bit but then dissipates eventually and doesn't leave much lacing. The brown color does remind you of nice furniture though.
S - big vanilla, oak, chocolate, tobacco, bourbon, molasses, caramel, butterscotch in a good way
T - bourbon, oak, vanilla , old pipe tobacco, caramel, molasses, milk chocolate, cream, it's not oxidized but it definitely begs to be aged for 5 or 10 years
M - heavy beer, alcohol covered extraordinarily for the abv, aftertaste is bourbon, oak, little boozy
O - a damn good beer. Probably one of the best I've ever had. It's a shame it's so damn hard to get.

Now onto Chimay Bleue, the best incarnation of Chimay.

The city of Verdun, France where I spent two days a week ago. Notorious for the battle of Verdun during WW1 exactly a century ago.

And The Douaumont Ossuary, which as per the name (Os translate to Bones in English) the cemetery of the 'remains' of dead French and Germans soldiers KIA then.

And to end with music, a beautiful country tune about 9/11. It's been 15 years already...

Really looking forward to the return of Sunday football and the NFL RedZone... Some posts here in WBAYDN led me to checkout Narcos on Netflix - whatta great show!!! The binge-watching has already begun (up to episode 3 already) - hey, anyone know where I can get some blow? Haha - just kidding - I already know where to go: Columbia! :grinning:

Anyway, the return of football and this Narcos show will perfectly fill the voids left by Game of Thrones and Fallout 4 (next GoT season won't start until like, June, this year, and the Nuka-World DLC for Fallout was the last one they're going to release (I already finished - snuffing raiders like the fucking terrorists they are ))

    Gonna be a great day!

    Cheers, BA...

I've probably posted variations of this photo hundreds of times in WBAYDN, but it's my favorite oatmeal stout, and a great session beer for the ol' soccer match. Damn it's been almost a year since I've had this since I boycotted Breckenridge. I've lifted the ban, and their beer is still good to me despite the AB acquisition.

@Greywulfken Narcos is great, I'm opening episode #3 tonight as well. I'm forbidden to post any spoilers  but hookers better not be snitches uh? Cheers and I liked your above post for the special day. Right when this happened I felt like ''we are off for rough times''...

A little woozy from last night's wine dinner with friends, so I cracked an Odell Oktoberfest. A surprise and a pleasant enough rye-grain like taste to it, nice. Not a usual for me, and also a NBS entry. Daily double. Cheers all, enjoy this day wherever you are...
