After a bad trader alert hovering around the top of this forum list for a couple days, I'm pleased to be able to put in a good word for an awesome new BA. Dave (wittyname, join date of August 4, 2012) responded to an ISO that I threw up last week. I offered a bottle of this year's BASC as a starting point for a list of a number of things that interested me, one of which was HF growlers. He shot me a note to say that he was new to beer but had already planned a beercation to Vermont. After hearing what I was interested in (750ml growlers of hoppy HF goodness x3) and my offer to add whatever he might be interested in on top of the BASC to make up $ on my end, his response was basically, "Send me whatever you want." Fast forward to today, after a half-week of excellent communication, discussions of packing tips, etc., and I arrived home to find a 6 bottle styro-shipper, beautifully packed, filled with 7 (yes 7) delightful brews: 750s of HF Abner, Simcoe, and Edward Extras: Lawson's Hopzilla and Chinooker'd, Heady Topper x2 I am currently dipping into the cellar to find some awesomeness for this new BA who is proving that join date don't mean shit. Great having a new member with such a generous, spread-the-love sort of attitude about trading.
D'oh, I completely forgot that this was going to be a two-fer great trader alert! LiquidDegenerate and I also hammered out a quick trade, and I got his box today and am incredibly pumped to now have a Leon and a Berserker to try and a Cognac Church on a Hill for a friend. He also dropped some damn fine extras on me (a 4-pack of White Oak Jai Alai, which is one of my favorite beers ever, a Dark Horse Too, and a Raison d'Extra). Freaking great job, guys!
mmm, looks like you have a little VT beercation for yourself. haven't had hopzilla or simcoe, but i'm sure every one of those beers is world class.
