What beer are you drinking now? #1422

Getting ready to watch what I'm certain will be a pretty emotional CNN special on 9/11. Cheers to @dee4maine, @nc41 and his son, all service men and women, this nation's first responders, WBAYDN advocates, and every American who strives to make this a better country for us all!

 

This beer is pretty good

 

#1, a freebie from an online retailer I buy from frequently (apparently, too frequently since they sent this free cross-country).

Enjoying a Stone Sublimley Self Rightous IPA after a full day grading papers and watching football. Damn, I wish they'd bring this back on a regular basis. I love this beer.

 

Having a mighty Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. This is our new table, it's pretty slick.

 

Cheers to you guys, your words and memories, an most importantly your kids for their service. Utmost respect to you and your families.

 

Good pairing with the (slightly over cooked) beef and cider stew.

I've posted this before-Bowie covering Simon and Garfunkel from the concert for America after 9/11. Still gets me every time I hear it.

 

Had this on draft tonight (1 of 2 kegs produced?)
Tasty...but overwhelmingly raspberry...couldn't really taste the barrel...although hid the 11.3% extremely well.

 

Old beer that tastes new again with a spicy hot bowl of chili. A couple of cool mornings coupled with football today put me in the mood to fire up the Crock Pot. Time for the night games!

Some New England deliciousness for the New England season opener:

 

#2, cranking things up a notch. This is outstanding.

 

After baseball this afternoon, started out at the Weyerbacher release for Mole' Stout - pretty much the non-BA aged version of Sunday Morning Stout with four different types of hot peppers and cinnamon. Pretty solid.



From there, (and NOW) ... on to Miller's Pub for another bottle share between the three of us ...



... a BIG shout out to @SawDog505 ... this Juice shah was GOOD!! ...











Three of my neighbors were first responders, two are now retired and former NYPD and one is/was NY Volunteer Fireman. Our youngest son (and soon to be Eagle Scout- just a proud dad here) called each one personally today and thanked them for what they did in that horrific 9/11 attack.



We need to pull together as a nation like we did back in 2001.

Never forget.

 

Second half of my Citracado and my last bottle of Oracle...

Looking forward to half of tonight's game (I never seem to make the 2nd half on a work night - stupid work ) - super-glad the Giants won, breaking Dallas' 8-0 streak against us on opening day games - glad Seattle won, too - tough loss for Indy fans...

I'm sorry anyone's son has to live with that memory, but these young men are quite remarkable and resilient. My thanks and prayers.

 

New Beer - Ninkasi's "Ground Control", an imperial stout (10%) brewed with Oregon Hazelnuts, Star Anise, and Yeast sent into Space:



Bottled 4/20/15 and drinking fine. Will try to cross post more photos and ramblings on NBS. Happy Sunday Stein Day!

Sunday nights always suck! But this time next week Pops will be down here visiting for a week or so again, so I got that going for me....which is nice!
