The first Oktoberfestbier for me this year - starting off with a good one!

This is my last full day in TX - tomorrow at this time I hope to be driving around Austin heading north. I usually pack the car the evening before we leave, but the heat here would be hard on the beer, so it looks like an early morning packing job.

Decided I'd try another from La Cumbre:


Malpais Stout - roasted nose and a chocolatey flavor with a little bit of heat from the 7.5%.

 

It definitely feels like autumn this morning along the southern shore with a temperature of 52 a little earlier when I went for my run. The most comfortable temperature in months and it felt like heaven. Time for a seasonal favorite in a cup my bro bought me for Christmas a few years ago and a light snack before tackling some chores around the house.

Let's power through Monday and have some fun this week!

 

Good, lovely, beautiful pre-autumn morning, all! I'm getting ready to piss away most of a glorious day off in meetings and trainings. (Job requirements.) What better way to start than with a good cup of joe?

It's going to be another roaster here in SW Florida today, and lots of chores again on the agenda. Another "anniversary" beer - Weyerbacher's 21, a BBA stout (11.9%) with cocoa and vanilla:

In the top 5 beers I've had all year. Hell, maybe even top 5 of all time! The texture alone...

 

The Oktoberfest!

Sprouted Cheddar Cheese Sandwich

The clothbound cheddar , sprouts, chopped nuts and thinly sliced apple. The cheese melted gracefully , nutty bread, hearty crunchy sprouts and from the season apples. Again this cheese paired with Ellicottville Fall Festival Lager.
