Biggest beer pet peeves

Pet peeve? Too much beer for a too small glass and no room( at least 2" ) for foam. Bad for sensory analysis( nosing/tasting) Fill it up 1/2 way, twice. Don't be that guy.

 

When people are writing reviews and tell what brewery their glassware came from... "poured into a Fremont snifter"... "poured into a Toppling Goliath tulip"... Who gives a shit.

 

1. No bottle dates or codes that no one can read.
2. Seeing some great beers and knowing they are never coming to my state.....ever.

 

I totally agree with this one. I hate how the best thing they have is Sam Adams. Seriously who is the moron running those companies? Idiots obviously!

I thought beer glasses were supposed to be left to air dry.

 

When people spell Pliny "Pliney". Bothers the crap out of me for some reason.

 

The fact that people brag, and other people hate this is my pet peeve. Who gives a shit?

 

They can be air dried, but if they are then the glass tends to develop water stains or it may become "foggier" or dirtier looking over time (at least in my experience). I like my glasses to look fucking immaculate, so I dry them with a soft towel until literally nothing is left on the glass except the logo. It's an OCD thing for me.

 

Well, when other people wash my beer glasses, they usually don't wash them properly

 

Maybe it's a Utah thing when I lived out there but I hate it when the bartender pours the bottled beer into the glass. I much rather do it myself.

 

But drying with a towel can leave bits of fuzz and dust in your glass.

 

Boss Pours = "Every Ounce Counts."

 

Example....

Me: hey you want a high abv ipa, try double dog

Guy: double dog? Haven't heard of it

Me: flying dogs dipa. 11.5%

Guy: i know how strong it is (says with attitude)

It doesn't make sense and thats my peeve.

I dont claim to know EVERYTHING but come on. People dont have to lie to try and be cool. Its just beer. Not kindergarten and i know its not a big deal, but i avoid situations like that now to not get aggravated

 

Sometimes my pours just happen to come out like that. I dont get it. Whats to get about that pic?

 

LOL, I hear that but I rather head than every ounce.

 

This is bad and seems to be happening all the time. But to add this it is even worse when they don't know what beer it is but do know the brewery. So they say, we have Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, Carton, etc. Well, that doesn't help me at all since they make many different beers. Thank god I can look up many places on beermenu's or untappd.

 

An optimist says the glass is half full.

A pessimist says the glass is half empty.

An engineer says the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

A beer snob says the glass is . . .

 

The Sam Adams is a classic one.
"What do you have on tap?"
"Pretty much everything. Bud Light, Miller Lite, Coors Light, Blue Moon, and Sam Adams."
"What is the SA?"
"It's the seasonal"
