Zwanze 2016 will be a ticketed event at Armsby Abbey to alleviate the issues we had in 2015. Included in your ticket price will be the following:

    - Exclusive access to the Zwanze Day tent

    - Zwanze 2016 comemmorative glassware

    - (1) 6oz pour of Zwanze 2016

    - Oyster bar, Charcuterie and Belgian waffle stations to graze upon

Beyond the above, within the Zwanze Day tent we will have custom Zwanze/Abbey t-shirts available and be pouring the following which will only be available within the tent on a per pour, CASH basis: Cantillon Classic, Cantillon Kriek, Cantillon Mamouche, Cantillon Iris Grand Cru plus a few other gems as well. All beers outside of Zwanze are available on a CASH basis only; no credit cards, CASH.

Armsby Abbey will be open to the public regular business hours serving brunch from 10AM-3PM and dinner from 4PM-11PM; the bar will be open throughout the day until midnight. We will have an assortment of Cantillon bottles available inside plus an amazing draught line-up; stay tuned for details!

Doesn't really do much to address last years issues expect guarantee Zwanze. No seats outside in the tent and the killer taplist is available to all at open..... not worth the $60 IMHO

Think the wife and I will be going to brunch that day. Looking forward to the tap list for the indoor crew, as always it is exceptional.

I'm fine with the glassware even if I'm not keeping it. At least with the times I went to Hobo, their glassware situation was a mess. I got a half pour of Anna in a regular pint glass because better glassware was being reserved for zwanze. Of course I stilled paid that premium for a proper pour and presentation  Not like any of the glassware for zwanze matched anyways or if you knew you were getting the right amount of beer.

I agree, I don't think they have addressed much of the issues that happened last year. For $60 you get access to a tent outside - which may be hot or freezing cold depending on what NE minute you are in and to a bar which may be insanely busy. they don't even mention if you are guaranteed entry to the main bar.

I'm not going to Armsby this year for Zwanze, but I'd consider it next year. I'm wondering the same thing, that would kind of suck if the main bar was just as busy as usual (even more with extra goodies on tap), and you're stuck outside. I mean, "stuck" outside isn't too shabby with what's out there, but if you want to try the other stuff on tap I don't know if you'd be able to get in.

I imagine they'll be at capacity most of the day.

I'm in the same boat. I just imagine a situation where people are inside drinkibr HF IPAs and saisons and Cantillon bottles laughing at the idiots that paid $60 to stand around in a tent and eat oysters.

Perhaps they should've considered their sibling bar, and opened early afternoon(ish), as to avoid the penetrating situation from last year: brunch crew comingled with crazy, hawkish Zwanze kids

I'm heading up to Novare Res to check that scene out this year. As I've posted in this thread before, even if I can't get tickets to Zwanze, then, oh no I'm in Portland for two days...whatever will I do...

How are 150 attendees for Zwanze fit into
This sounds like a bad idea to have 150 in a tent pay for an event while an added or equal number is trying to fit on every part of the floor. I actually don't see how this is better than last year?
Maybe just have 200 tickets, charge more, and close Armsby to the public for 3 to 5 hours?

I loved last year. Showed up for brunch and was seated with no wait, grabbed a C bottle without any issues, and the tap list that day was amazing.

I was out of there by like 1 o'clock or so, quite drunk, and would probably do the same thing again this year if I wasn't working.

as outsiders we saw the flaws in seconds of the announcement. Did anyone there just sit back and think about if this was functional or were they just so set on the main objective of keeping an open brunch at any cost? The idea of zwanze is nice but not sure Armsby's effort is worth it.

I think you were in the minority. Seemed like most brunch people stayed all day, which created the issue.

$60 for 6oz, another glass no one needs, and finger food? What is the beer world coming to? That's insane.

I wonder if the venues were forced to buy the glassware as part of the deal for participating in Zwanze and that's why it's being included in the packages.

I can understand that. I don't really mind spending $5 on a glass. More, then no. But the pricing for some of the events are getting insane. 6oz shouldn't be more than $10 (I'd still consider that a rip off), then $20 for food max and a $5 glass. That's $35. Where the hell is the other $25? Getting to be cramped under a tent while overpaying for more beer?
