If only that particular website could tell me why exactly this would be such a hyped release..

Many of us on this forum think its one of the best beers they have put out. However, I believe it was only available in the tap room. People that only visit Other Half for cans are probably not aware of the caliber of this beer. I honestly don't think it will be bad and anticipate walking in at 12 with no line and picking up my cans.

Yea, I agree with this re: Mylar Bags hype, though I may be biased because it disappointed me. Mylar Bags is hyped in this thread, but the ratings don't really reflect this - it's lower-rated on BA and Untappd than Double Mosaic Dream and many of the other recent releases.

The wildcard, to me, is Double Dry-Hopped Double Mosaic Dream. OH hasn't yet made a beer advertised as "double dry-hopped," and the name evokes Trillium and other breweries that create sought-after double dry-hopped IPAs. I think that's much more likely to drive hype for this release than Mylar Bags.

It popped up a few places around the city, It was available in Grand Central for a while, and they had it listed at 8.8.

Completely agree with this. I thought Mylar Bags was ok, but nothing to wait in line for. Double Dry Hopped Mosaic is where the action will be.

I hope they eventually brew up a new batch of Greenbacks. That beer was perfect.

FWIW, left OH around 6pm and they still had 36+ cases of GD left. Plus they have Nelson and Southern Passion on tap (recommend them both!)

Also, looks like next can release will be Sept 24th. Hope everyone is right about Mylar -- definitely not planning on showing up before 11am. Sometimes I wish they would hold some of their beer with lower can limits -- I always just want a couple 4 packs and I'm amazed so many people can drink cases of this stuff while it's still fresh.

Like @tynian16 and @berto714 said before, while it was a really nice beer and I will be in line for cans, I was somewhat underwhelmed by Mylar Bags given the reception here on BA. I can think of a bunch of Other Half beers I've enjoyed more.

Also, I too am REALLY curious about OH DDHDMD (how's that for the acronym police?:stuck_out_tongue:)

2nd Anniversary is still my absolute favorite beer OH has put out. Patiently waiting for them to top themselves with that one.

Wait have they brewed DDHDMD (sorry for the acronym) before? How is there more hype for that over an already released beer? I personally loved Mylar Bags.

First time for DDHDMD but it's DDH and that's all that matters to create hype.

While I'm not disagreeing with the idea of a DDH beer creating hype, did anyone think the last release was gonna be so quiet with case limits and 4 Double IPAs available? Until OH does another collab with a super popular brewery I think it's safe to say most of these beers will last into the early afternoon (1/2pm) at the earliest. I look forward to getting all my beer with a minimal line at around 11 like the last 4-5 releases.

well if LIC's next can is half as good as Pile of Crowns, my fresh IPA itch will be scratched this saturday. If I miss out on Other half, I miss out. Too much good beer in a 5 mile radius to warrant waiting in line for 4 hours.

I think the biggest sign of change is the fact GD cans are still plentiful!

honestly, jersey is probably wondering if the ride + wait is worth it. Magnify is cranking out cans almost every week, Carton always kills it, Kane is starting to really rev up the canning line, growlers of grav. waves or whatever else at conclave and twin elephant is a dope new addition.

we're entering an era where grimm cans might last a day and staple OH beers are available for cans at the brewery for a week.

having said all of that, if they do can double dry hopped double mosaic dream, it will be their best beer to date- hands down.

@dhaakon I agree with you, if you can get really good beer of a similar caliber it's not worth the wait or travel time to OH.

Pile of Crowns was really good, both of the cans Greenpoint did were great, and word is Interboro's first can release was solid.

BUT I think it will force OH to stay ahead of the game and start cranking out more things like DDH variants, collabs and what ever else their hearts desire.

Is it even possible for OH to do more collabs?
