Per a comment they made on Facebook today:

"We are sold a very limited amount of Cantillon Zwanze as well as a few other kegs, which will be sold to the public via tickets. There will be no bottles of Cantillon available for purchase. We MIGHT have a release of one of our beers that day but there will be no hype around it. Very casual. Tickets will be sold in advance and we will be posting more information very very soon! It certainly isn't pointless to try to get a ticket. Everyone will have an equal shot. Cheers!"

Sounds like BPT is an option.

Haha is this some kind of joke @DontTellMom … Do you for one second think Fonta Flora would put their brand new brewery they're more than likely spending millions of dollars on in a location that was dry? The fact you even took the time to look up aerials of what county it is in and the county alcohol actually made me laugh. Thank you for that.

Y'all. Our future farmhouse location is in Burke County, which is, in fact a dry county. Initially we will be focused on the production of beer with the goal of adding a tasting room if and when we are able to do so. From that, Zwanze will NOT be held at the farmhouse location and will be held at our current facility in Morganton. We will be announcing more about the specifics in the next few days.

The hype machine is already running at full capacity.

I honestly didn't know there were dry counties in NC, what is this Kentucky?

I mean, in parts of Western NC it does feel like Kentucky.

Haha, you must be one of our Northern imports. NC is full of dry counties and some are very resistant to change. The county I grew up in was dry up until about a decade ago. We had to drive across the county line to get our fire water!

Thankfully it has changed a lot since then and I think the craft beer craze has had no small part in that

My apologies @DontTellMom, kind of a dick comment I made last night. Was a little drunk. I do get tired of people overall arguing for the sake of arguing on this site.

Why, for the love of NC, would you build a brewery in a dry county? With the BS politics in this state, I would never rely on your elected officials to even try to get it on the ballot, let alone support it. Unless its on the ballot for this November, this has to be the oddest location ever to build a brewery.

At least it was funny haha. Who among us hasn't made a comment in the evening they may not have made if not for having had a few?

From central VA, so kinda. Naw it doesn't surprise me there are still some in the rural areas of the state, but I can't say I've ever been in one long enough to know it. I'm sure there are still a few in VA as well.

Our brewery was built in a dry county but the municipality had already elected to allow beer and liquor by the drink, and quickly realized how important the beer tourism would be to the town. The alderman made it possible for breweries to open, which brings in plenty of tax revenue. I'm sure the same will happen for Todd once they get established in the new location.

Burke is definitely a dry county.

I just want a shirt with FF/Zwanze logo design they posted on social media. Hoping it's not completely pink though.

Definite hype around Z-Day and the event, but I interpret this to mean that any potential FF bottle released that day would either be silent and not "hyped" in advance and/or it be something that they have plenty of like a new 750 saison bottle or maybe that "brezelvass" they had posted about a little while ago. Would be nice to take home FF bottles of any kind for those in attendance.

I don't think they'd want to do something like release Rhythm Rug on that day. This day is about Cantillon and that beer deserves its own separate day.

    it's pretty stupid.
Actually it's the perfect spot for us. Our intention for this brewery (for the time being) is not to have a full time tasting room. This farm is an absolute dream for us. It happens to be located very close to our roots, and hosts a ton of history for Fonta Flora community, as well as the community here in BC. Which is something we feel very passionately about. Just because it is a dry county, doesn't mean we can't have a tasting room. There are all kinds of ways for us to comply with dry county laws, and still be able to serve by the drink. Becoming a private club being one of them. We break our backs on a daily basis not to become rich and famous. We do it because we truly, and completely love what we do. Of course making lots of money is great! But it isn't our only objective. We will be building a tasting room. But even if we weren't in a dry county we would only be open to the public there Friday-Saturday. The benefits of working on a quiet and peaceful mountain farm vastly outweighs the small amount of income we would generate in said tasting room.

Let us take a page from Star Wars fandom for a moment. We can sit around all day, and speculate what the next movie is going to be like. We can pick it apart, and analyze it based on the extremely limited amount of knowledge we are given. OR, we can wait, walk into the theater with no preconceived notions, and embrace it for all of its excitement and glory. Just a thought.

Thanks for all of the support, guys. We can't wait to share our new spot with you in whatever ways we can. Which will be limited, regardless.

    Cheers!
