Toppling Goliath Releases and Updates

200 some at open, although today I can't give you a play by play update. It was a long 4 hours home yesterday afterwards.

 

Clark tweeted earlier there were well over 200 bottles left

 

And no line!!!!

Anyone have another update on chain smoker bottle status?

Per Mike yesterday, Cycle will be doing a release of Chainsmoker as well. Same beer, I think he said they were shipping them to St Petersburg.

 

Just to add to what everyone else was saying about the release:

I got there around 10:20/30 and didn't get my bottles until 3:15. People were buying their Chain Smokers along with 2 cases of bottles at the same time in addition to getting growler fills and drafts. I'm all for the spirit of drinking while in line and such, but I definitely think they should have had separate lines for Chain Smoker and the other bombers and growler fills. Judging by what I heard in line, most other releases at other breweries are like this and it generally doesn't take very long even with large crowds. Closest bathroom prior to the building opening was a Subway down the road so that wasn't ideal either.

That being said, it was my first bottle release I've attended and I'm glad I got a chance to buy such a rare beer. Got to try some Assassin (not sure what year) which was awesome and another notch off the bucket list. I was also fortunate to get some of the last bombers of Sol Hunter.

 

TG tapped a brand new DIPA called Summit Monster (obviously using Summit hops) at their taproom today.

 

Not that it matters, but it went-on Saturday afternoon. I, of course, didn't bother to try it because I misunderstood it to be a Summit guest tap.

 

I thought the exact same thing when I was there.

 

Not sure whether this potentially belongs in another Thread, but TG just tweeted they will be sending kegs to MN bars for drafts "soon"

Biter is one of the original DIPAs they released in the Hop Patrol series back in 2012ish. I think you'll be happy to have it on draft and should be lucky you are getting it, as they haven't brewed it for years. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/23222/80096/

Have they ever released Biter in bottles? I hope it makes its way through Iowa at some point in the future too.

 

I don't believe so. The last time they made Biter was before they were packaging their beer.
