Why not? Like I said, until 2011, it lingered on shelves forever. Now AB owns GI, is pumping out tons more BCBS, and have even announced they plan on making it a year-round release.

Ironically, the whole reason we even have a BCBS shortage right now is because everybody freaked out and started hoarding it when the AB buyout was announced. Now, with the incentive to hoard completely removed, you're going to start seeing piles of it everywhere. It will take a year or two for everything to align, but I have zero doubt it's going to happen.

A case of HT at the Cannery is $77 plus some change (don't have my charge slip at work) so $13 per 4-pack is spot on (maybe a few pennies high).

yeah, i'd take heady over BCBS any day myself. however, were i doing the trade for some reason, i'd acknowledge that BCBS is a bigger pain to get than heady at the moment (which, if you can get it at all, is not that difficult to get).

I am just lucky in that my wife periodically goes through Waterbury on business and has stopped a couple of times to grab me a case. I love and savor it but I have only landed six or so BCBS and really want to have more.

I've made numerous offers for BCBS all right at 2-3X $4$. I'm offering 98/99 rated bombers plus quantity, and still not a response. You cannot tell me that sometimes this trading bit is every bad as an EBAY transaction, I'm paying 3X what the beer is bought for and I'll have to ship too. Goes to show ever where there's a lot of BCBS there's not a lot. I'm giving up, I have a guy in CA that's scheduled for an OCT drop on 22 oz bottles and he's allocating me 3, that will be good enough for now.

Yeah. I am there with you. I offered the trade and am getting crickets. Oh well, more Heady for me.

Accusing those who currently have BCBS of wanting an eBay style transaction is probably not the best way to get them to make a trade with you...

Maybe wait until it's released to all of the markets it's going to?

whoa whoa whoa, you're not trying to insinuating that "my trade isn't getting done" fails to prove "there's a huge conspiracy among BCBS drinkers to cheat me out of beer" are you?? next you're going to tell me that people don't always get every little thing that they want, or some other crazy idea.

Parabola/Sucuba/ 2011 Abacus/FW 15th Anniversary/Black Butter Porter XXIV/ multiple BA Peoples Porter done in 15 year old PVW bottles. Offered a combo from the above, and 3 of the BA PP. Obviously no whales, but certainly not offering sub par brews in return in volume.

I love me some BCBS; but I wouldn't trade any of my Parabola for it.

Not at all, but at least a response would be nice. Who knows I may have upped the ante a little with growlers of local stuff or more from my stash. I always respond to every inquiry whether we agree on a trade or not, most trades don't work out, but I don't let it just die either without at least a quick BM.

...but this is about some particular trader you BM'd, not BCBS. further, while it's rude of them to not reply to you, them not wanting your beer is nothing like ebay auctions. they evidently don't want your beer, so the trade isn't happening. no one is obligated to trade with you, no matter what you offer.

    beer isn't money.

Your right beer isn't money, and maybe they don't like the beers offered, maybe they have a smaller stash, I don't know. But a simple BM would clear it up, it's not too much to ask when what your offering is well over $4$ for a brew. It's not like I'm offering off the shelf beers in return.

For some people Parabola/Sucuba/ 2011 Abacus/FW 15th Anniversary/Black Butte Porter XXIV would be considered "shelf" beers (depending on your definition.) I think with the amount of ISOs with the recent release of BCBS there is a feeding frenzy and people that have it can hold out for best offers. I agree though it would be nice to get a reply when replying to a post.

Personally I like most or all of those beers you are offering better than BCBS and I bet if you tossed up your own ISO it would probably get done, better to reach a bigger audience than just one individual.

it's true that they're all (sans BA PP--i don't know) easier to get, both to buy if you're in the brewery's footprint or to trade for.

i'm not sure people outside of GI distro area understand that BCBS hasn't been something you walk into a store and find on a shelf for a couple years now (unless you're really lucky or check the best stores around you daily).

that said, i'm kind of surprised it trades at such a premium. because it used to be so easy to get (just sat on shelves for months and months), my gut reaction with BCBS if i had it would be "oh, some interesting barrel aged local for BCBS? sure, why not?" especially since, yeah, BCBS is better than the vast majority of barrel aged beers, but so is backwards bastard and you can usually stock up on that stuff still. my intuitive brain still hasn't made the switch from "BCBS is a shelf local" to "BCBS is some highly sought after rarity," and it probably won't before they up production and it's common again.

...but i still haven't seen it on shelves for 2 years.
