Bad Trader: ADM_Crunch

That sucks man, sorry. I'm assuming he had you ship first because of your lack of trade history, am I right? If not why didn't you coordinate shipping?

At this point since it's been 4 weeks without any contact I think the best thing to do would be to out him so we can tag him to this thread and try and get the ball rolling. It definitely seems like he either forgot or is completely blowing you off.

Also do you have a number for him? If so have you tried to contact him that way?

 

He PM'd you looking for a 12 pack of Yuengling cans out of the blue totally unsolicited?
Where did he even get your name from?
And never told you what he was sending back in return?
Why someone would reach out to another BA who has no trades and has never even posted on the site is a little suspicious.
There has to be more to the story?

 

He has Yuengling listed in his gots as available for trade. I have received unsolicited requests for brews I had listed like this in the past. Not saying that is what happened, just a potential reason.

 

If he hasn't logged on in three weeks something might have happened. I hope he's all right.

Do you have a cell # or email? If so, have you tried to call, text, or email him?

If you didn't get additional contact info, reach out to other trading partners who might know how to contact him. You can also check fb or untappd.

I'll tag him in this thread on the chance that he checks in again.

@ADM_Crunch please explain what's going on here. When can DMW7243 expect to get the beers he's waited for so patiently?

Yikes! He's even newer than you are. It doesn't appear he has any fb or has even been cleared to trade here.

If you never get your beers, be glad you're out no more than a twelve pack of easily obtained, affordable beer & the shipping fees.

Going forward try to do your initial trades with experienced traders who have at least 10-20 + fb. They're less risky & will probably be both supportive & helpful.

1) Always get a cell & email.
2) Read the fb comments before you commit to a trade.
3) Be wary of comments that indicate slow shipping, poor communication, substituted bottles etc.
4) Expect to ship 1st until you have ~10 completed trades. Until then seek out members with an established history.
5) Never ship until a trade request has been accepted.
6) Avoid open ended agreements, ie you send a 12 pack of Yuengling, be specific as to what you expect to receive, whether it's $4$, certain styles, specific # of similarly priced bottles etc .
7) Before setting up another trade read through the trading forums to get a better feel for how to proceed.

 

Yeah Lance P. is fine. He is over on Untapped, seems he drank your beers back at the end of August, and has been drinking away since then

Ok thanks for the explanation, makes sense and my apologies to the OP. In all my years on BA I never filled out wants and gots and did not realize the extent of people reaching out for trades outside of the ISO/FT trade forums.
Also, so used to reading OP's in these BT trade threads being out Black Tuesdays or rare beers that seeing a 12 pack of Yeungling mentioned seemed a little strange.
Unfortunately, unlike most Bad Trades, this isn't a case where the BTer flaked out and didn't deliver but rather what seems like a complete scam right from the start.

 

I'm figuring he *woke up* when he was *tagged* as a *Bad Trader*, right around 9:20am..just sayin'
