Real OG Nelson would never sit. The GF plunk does.

I know this I never said it was brewed up in alpine,
Just wanted to know when the latest green flash batch was brewed any idea of when that was?

It would be highly illegal to sell it with those labels that say brewed and bottled in Alpine, the ABC would not take kindly to that and I doubt GF would take that risk for a few cases of beer. Plus Ive had the GF plunk, it's not even close to the OG.

looks like both Alpine and Green Flash have Nelson available. I know I've heard countless times that it's all brewed at the same place, but the last time I got a growler from the Alpine brewery, it was actually great, hard to tell any difference from the glorious Nelson I used to enjoy pre-GF takeover, so I have an irrational desire to not fuck with a good thing and continue to get it there when available. But in theory, the Nelson at the GF tasting room should be the same as what's at Alpine, right? Trying to save myself some driving time if all I want is a growler of Nelson.

Yes, they are both being brewed at GF right now and I agree that the latest batch was pretty damn tasty.

You think just like me. Even though I know it's brewed at the Flash I still get that old school feeling driving to Alpine and getting Nelson. Many people don't even understand how amazing it use to be. It was so good even flies would die to try it.

Those were good days. Pitcher of OG Nelson, sometimes Keene idea. Wings, fried pickles. Then growlers of OG Nelson , greeting Steve and Danielle next door at the tiny brewery. Then head back, see if the liquor store had Nelson bottles, because they would only limit 3 at alpine .

hell yeah. I used to make the trip down from LA/OC every 5 week or so. Loved sitting on the patio with a pitcher of real nelson. Dont forget about the spinach artichoke dip

Miss chatting with Steve at the Brewery. And those Tacos on Tuesday's? OG Nelson was the best....back in the day.

sigh. pitches of nelson and dry rubbed wings. Even the wings aren't the same anymore.

I noticed the wings weren't quite the same the first and only time I've been to the new location. That was most upsetting for me.

Nachos was the all time appetizer before the pulled pork sammich after a good day in the mountains with my bike. Swung for the fences after a recent ride and decided Nachos was calling me, no more nacho cheese. I now had roughly 75% of my chips naked after all was said and done....NOOOOOOOOO. Maybe we can get some traction with the powers that be to ensure that what kept us coming back on the menu stays on the menu. These "subtle" changes are no bueno.

Back in the day, 8 or 9 years ago I set out for my trek on the PCT. Starting from the Mexico/California border near the town of Campo I hit the Hwy 8 crossing and was thirsty for beer. The town of Alpine was nearby, so I hitchhiked to Alpine. The driver dropped me off at Alpine Beer Co. I asked what is this? He told me this is the only place your gonna find beer here. Thats when I discovered ABC and their great IPA's. I never made it back to the trail to continue my trek on the PCT. That was my last day I backpacked.

I was in SD yesterday on business. I have a few " ABC old timers " who said I should try the new batch of Nelson. Picked up a few growlers. Its a really solid batch, that hazy orange body is there, the nose is not quite as pungent as the OG, but what I am liking is that classic tangerine orange/pineapple flavor and that classic softer body that was missing in so many of the GF early batches. Actually as this opens it get's pretty damn good.

    Cheers,

Does anyone know whether these new-ish beers up on the webcam at alpine are alpine or GF brewed? Looking at Singled Out, Bus Ride, Pitcher Perfect, Windows Up. Haven't had any of these yet but I assume if they're brewed up on the hill that they're good

Had a Singled Out Mosaic tonite. Awesome stuff.

Would be stoked as sh*t if they bottled the Galaxy version of it.
