I completely agree. Also if you have time check out Finkel & Garf right by Avery. Nice little tap room with good beer, snacks, and some quirky old board games to play around with.

Asher is right there, too. They concentrate on orgasmic beer. Maybe that's organic. Either way....

I'm traveling solo and planning on ubering everywhere during GABF.
If someone (or 3 people) wants to take an uber together or possibly giving me a ride to Avery on Wednesday for lunch please shoot me a message. If you give me a ride i'll buy you lunch or something  It will be a lot of ubering if I end up going by myself to Boulder.

Thanks for all the informative posts everybody.

Pro tip. Take the bus from Union Station to Boulder. I think it's super cheap like 4.50 each way. Grab a pint, than grab your Uber. An Uber right now from Denver to Avery would cost you 70 something bucks. An Uber from Boulder to Avery is more like 12 bucks.

By the way, we randomly wandered into Backcountry Pizza and Taphouse in Boulder on our way to Avery (not being sure of Avery's food situation) and found a ton of great sours still on tap from last year's version of this event. If I were in the area, I think I would not be able to resist this and if you like sours and don't get many of the great ones where you live, this place might be worth the visit if you're in town for GABF and heading out to Avery anyway...

I think Boulder is worth the trip. Avery is worth the visit and Back Country has a great beer list. I plan to visit both again this year.

Speaking of Avery, does anyone know what happened to the Avery Midnight Breakfast at Euclid Hall? That was a great event.

Email reply I just got from Euclid:

"AMB is a no-go this year. We're looking froward to pairing with Avery on many great events moving forward. Stay tuned."

Thanks for checking with them. What a bummer. I guess I'll find something else to do that night. Fortunately there are plenty of options!

Can someone please explain the Tavour Bottlefest tickets to me? $10 gets you 6 tokens to use for a 30 minute timeslot. Additional tokens can be purchased for $2 each. I am guessing different beers will cost varying amounts of tokens to try. Once the timeslot is over you have to leave, unless you bought 2-3 slots in a row in which case you can stay. Does this sound right? I've never done an event like this so I'm pretty clueless.

They clarified it a bit on their Facebook event page, and that's pretty much exactly how they said it will work. They will apparently let you stay longer if there is enough remaining capacity, but I wouldn't keep my fingers crossed.

Those folks in town who do decide to uber/bus/drive up to Boulder, do yourself a favor and check out Powder Keg Brewing. 5 minutes from Avery, outstanding beer, and one of the best guest tap lists in Boulder. They will have some special stuff on tap for GABF week as well, including many of the "guest" breweries only around for the week.

I will be in Denver this weekend. Are there any early early events going on Fri or Saturday? Or is that too early for any pre-GABF parties?
