Maybe it's me but Dan's Pink Skirt seemed off to me. An almost funkiness to it up front before the bitterness takes over. I recall really enjoying this in the past, color me disappointed. Anybody else get any off flavors?

Zero funkiness or off flavors from the six pack I drank through last weekend.

Had a couple about two weeks ago, nothing off on either one.

Dan's pink skirt tastes as good as ever! Crushed a few more last night.

Forgot to add the description of Kind Ale the other day. So, for those who haven't had it before or are new to harvest ales:

"Kind Ale is a beer brewed each fall to celebrate a successful growing season. True to tradition, we commemorate the year’s agricultural achievements by using only wet hops in the boil, straight from the fields of Northern Michigan’s local hop farms. Local hops impart a dank intensity to this ale. The beer’s finish is immensely grassy, bitter, and fresh thanks to a healthy dry hop addition.

Kind Ale was first brewed as a single batch at our Elk Rapids production facility in September of 2009. The label art for Kind Ale is a picture of Tony Hansen holding up some of the first ever usable mature hops grown in Northern Michigan. The first year the beer was brewed, Joe Short and Tony Hansen visited hop fields on Old Mission Peninsula to watch the hops get picked, before loading them into their truck and personally driving them back to Elk Rapids to brew with that day.

    5.5% ABV
    116 IBU"

Dan's Pink Skirt tasted just fine here, very similar to what I remember the last two years - well enough that a six pack turned into a case....the increase in production at Shorts has been great for us local consumers, no more needing to rush to get the specialty releases as there is enough that it last a good month (if not more) at all the stores.

I tried a second bottle last night and got the same thing. The store I picked them up from had them sitting out warm so maybe that's a factor. It's possible that it's just me. Palates are funny sometimes.

The Dan's had a funkiness to it on the front end but I actually enjoy this funkiness quite a bit. It is a different beer then in the distant past but it remains true to the original in that it is a bitter grapefruit bomb with some complexity. I have no complaints except when I run out there will be no more

Herman, will kind ale make it out of MI through distro?

I have confirmed it will not.

    Eat your heart out, Michigan.

Is there going to be a release date posted on the website for Richard, Pumpkincrusha, and Lil Creepster? September's edging towards an end and I'm hoping they're still coming (especially Richard!)
    Thanks!

Yes, yes, Augustus- of course they are all on their way! Maybe not exactly on time, but they will be tapped at only the finest of Michigan watering holes.
