Do they let you pour the non-Fizzics beer so that it is poured properly or do they pour it themselves?

Does your store fill growlers from kegs? Or sell kegs? I bet you can get a growler filled for less than 169.00 at your store, or a store that has them, and it will taste just like it's from the tap. Are there any pubs or taverns selling draft beer in your town?

I guess if I lived in an area where there are no growler fills, no pubs, no kegs, no stores selling kegs, or kegerators, or picnic taps, and all my beer isn't the perfect mouthfeel for me to enjoy it in a glass poured from a container, I might buy this product- if it was under ten dollars.

The sharks could smell the money rolling off the printing press... not any extra aroma off the beer or extra mouthfeel.

This is not a gadget for us. This is a gadget for someone who either
    • likes gadgets
    • is just starting to get into craft beer
    • has family and friends that know "they are a beer person"
    • are a "bro"
    • are keeping up with the Jonses
    • has way too much expendable income
I would be much happier with $170 of beer.

Just looked that up, looks interesting. Now that Trillium is canning everything I don't buy many growlers, but might pick this up if my buying habits change. Do you like it?

Let's not forget who first came up with this "technology"...

Yep. Works great. I've opened growlers, drank part and finished a week later and the beer was still great. My only beef is that the first pour is almost always a bit foamy. Instructions say "you'll get the hang of it" with that first pour but I have not.

Just got this as a gift. Thinking of returning it and using the money to upgrade some of my home brewing equipment. Feel bad for my wife who tries real hard to get stuff I like though.

Got one for Christmas from a well-meaning family member. Have employed it on a 6-year-old Barleywine and a 7-year-old barrel aged porter. Results: I probably could've achieved a better head on these beers by blowing through a straw. Explain to me again why I can't just pour the beer from bottle to glass?

Edit: I just realized I was doing it wrong. Tried one according to instructions and the difference is actually somewhat remarkable. I could not get this blowing through a straw. This is in no way an endorsement of the product, but I will certainly use this to enhance some of my older, higher alcohol beers. And if I relocate that cappuccino maker we never use out to the garage, the difference in counter space will be negligible.

Using this on cellared beer is pure tragedy in the making. What was the big difference in the beer?

I headed this off by letting my family know I'm not into beer gimmicks, and by giving them some suggestions for shirts and glassware.

Head was virtually non-existent on the initial pour. When used correctly I got a nice frothy head and a velvety mouthfeel, which seemed to freshen up a great beer that was probably past its prime. If anything, tragedy may have been averted.

I prefer those aged beers flat (or close too) to be honest, especially the older barleywine which is in its prime aging window at 6 years. It just seems weird to dump a boatload of foam on an aged barleywine. Porter, well depends on the beer.
