Great, im glad they announced it. The result is still a bunch of nasty ass beer. I saved quite a few of the regulars and they were fine, so obviously not all of them were infected.

Either way, ill opt out of he lines and hoopla and spend my money elsewhere. Plus, as frequent as it is on tap, no reason to risk drinking infected swill.

I absolutely do. 2011 vintage, fresh. My "red pill" craft beer moment.

Will be buying this again this year just like i have for the past 5 years. GI took care of last years problems to my complete satisfaction.

Yeah. Announce them early enough and more and more people will jump into the whole "oh I wonder how infected it'll be" club.

Wait until mid-late October and people start getting eager for the new vintage announcement as they'll be ready to buy BCBS again.

Yea a buch of beer that they refunded everyone for. I 100% get not wanting to go through the "process" again but to shit all over GI who has handled this with the upmost professionalism is BS at this point.

I'm surprised they didn't recall all the unopened bottles of infected BCBS and variants and just slap on new labels and rebrand them as Regal Rye...

Are you guys saying bourbon barrel aged stout is what got you into craft beer? That's quite a leap from Miller Lite.

This was from a sample they pulled hoping to get a email back from gi on if it's anything to worry about as I'm thinking about maybe grabbing a few this year

Could you clarify that a bit? You're saying that GI had the distributor into their facility and let them sample their BCBS? I'd like to know if it was regular, one of the variants, or all of them.

It seems strange to me that they would let them have a sample like this, without quadruple checking to make sure it's on point.

Five years back there were relatively few barrel aged stouts available in comparison to now, especially in the volume of bourbon county. Even being a regular craft beer drinker years ago, this was a real In your face type wow moment. I was addicted after my first sip although when I ran out I could just go to the store and grab more now I can't

I'm just saying, I got into craft via German beers, American takes on doppelbocks, i.e. things that gently pushed me into a new world where hey, this bland beverage actually has way more possibilities, especially in regards to flavor. I don't think I've met anyone that went from non-beer fan to craft fanatic due to something as bold and semi-rare (especially back then) as a BA stout. Although when I think about it, maybe it makes sense for someone coming from more of a big spirit/bourbon enthusiast standpoint transitioning to beer I suppose.

I was strictly bud light until I drank a KBS. Was also a bourbon drinker before too so maybe your theory is right.

This is definitely one of those "crap on a movie star" online type deal, but if he/she saw them in person they'd be freaking out: "omg its adam sandler, I love him."

Few things, How would they know, that's also subjective and why leave them unnamed. If its not for sale its not for sale so to avoid the lines it doesn't matter now anyway

Oh same here, and of course being in Ohio for so long Great Lakes brewing. I think I transitioned from blue moon to holy moses and then the rest is history. I don't think I have seen anyone transition from macros to barrel aged beers (save for today's new money). All I was saying, after drinking solid, good beers for a while, bourbon county was quite impressive at one point.

No I was in college at the time. Drinking mostly busch lite. I had been dabbling here and there with IPA's and such but the 2012 BCS Coffee was my ah ha moment with craft. Followed shortly by the first time I ever had hop slam.
