off, figured i'd throw it in reverse for tbt (throwback Thursday). been awhile since i last cracked one of these & imho, it's been well worth the wait.

Happy Michaelmas! I made struans for breakfast... actually, they were just pancakes but, since nobody knows what a struan is, I figured, hey, close enough. Later I'll try to find some blackberries to make a pie since Michaelmas is the last day you can eat blackberries - because, as every child knows, that's the day Satan shat on them.

My Throwback Thursday submission is Smuttynose Baltic Porter which, even though I walk past it in the beer aisle at the supermarket all the time, I seldom remember to put it in my cart. I don't know why because it's fantastic. At one time, it was the highest rated beer from NH on BA. It may still be; I don't know.

And it has an appropriately liturgical label to boot. Although I don't think that's the archangel Michael. It's like the pancakes; close enough.

The hoppyness really helps this one.

Happy Thursday BA's! September's end is approaching quickly, and Oktoberfest (in Bavaria) is coming to an official close this Sunday . Perfect opportunity for us to show them our O'Fest pride by stepping up our Stein Club Sunday game this weekend ! As for the now, it's time for the Glass of the Day Awards!

GotD: This was an obvious choice from the get go. Though it got no use yesterday, the Staff acknowledges its glory and history before its retirement, and @Roguer for the patience and dedication to his "puzzle piece cup". Thank you, and your mug for your service. Cheers and congrats!
2nd: It's been a while since @stevoj has been in the winners circle, but this gold rimmed Kaltenberg stange pulled him back in. With the beer style and label, overall a great pic! #kindofproper
3rd: What can I say, the Staff is kind of into pokal's right now. So, @The-Adjunct-Hippie 's flared pokal-tulip-ish glass got some attention, and takes the bronze.

Honorable mentions go out to @Buck89 for a Stella like Buck's glass, and to @jeffgott for an unused Aslin pokal (See? I'm in love with those damn things!).
